Yesterday treated my parents to what they both said was the best restaurant meals they have enjoyed in the wider Charleston area - soft shell crab and grilled seafood trio in many attempts. Outside on the patio with an incredibly gracious and attentive server (Kathy Lynn? - a recent transfer from Phoenix) made the experience all the more remarkable. We’ll be back and as this review attests - will recommend to others. Thanks for your successful efforts.

My family and I wanted to venture out and try something new. We traveling almost an hour and decided to stop at the location on Mill St in Mt. Pleasant. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside on the patio. We received our food and was eatting our food when all of sudden the wind blew and blew the extra large umbrella onto my self, our table and my daughter, causing the table to tip, my wife was able to catch the table from falling on us. I took the brunt of the force as the pole knocked me in the head and neck causing me to fall over as I was trying to catch my daughter from falling over. We both fell. A nice man, eatting at the next table came and helped get the umbrella off of us. My daughter was crying, my wife picked her up and I am covered in scrapes and bruises, immediately. They did come over and ask if we were ok and put the umbrella to the side ( but I don’t even know who they were). It could have been a manager I am not sure. No one asked my daughter is she was ok or even attempted to stop her from crying. I said I am worried about her more and pointed to my leg. The sever was good and she did ask if we were ok (not any fault of hers). I know the wind wasn’t the restaurant fault but this is your restaurant and you didn’t seem to really care. I hope we will be ok because I am pretty sore my neck and body and legs. I have worried the industry before in management and def would have offered something. If not to me then to my child. Also my wife couldn’t finish her food and five min later they brought us the check. No one checked on us on the way out either. I def will never be eatting there again. And hopefully I will be ok. If there was a place to upload pics I would but just be caution to stay away from the big blue umbrellas and a management who did not care except to ask one if I was ok.

Food was awful! Absolutely no seasoning on the crab. Oysters were the size of a penny. When explaining our frustrations about the food to the server , she just did not care. When we left , server and hostess were making fun of us for complaining. Would not recommend

The food was delicious! I was famished as I hadn’t eaten all day, and so we ordered two appetizers which were great, and then I had a burger, fries and an extra side of coleslaw which was delicious! Our server was friendly and efficient, and the views of the harbor are also pretty!

Let me start with the men's bathroom, it smelled of urine. There were literally bath mats under the urinal and toilet to catch the drips, it was disgusting. Had I checked the bathroom before dinner, I would not have any more comments.

The appetizer portions are tiny. Four slices of fried green tomatoes for $12.95 is ridiculous.

The server forgot to put our order in for the $49.95 crab pot and we ended up waiting a very long time. The crab pot was not a two person portion as the server suggested. It had 4 shrimp; half of a barley legal dungeness crab; the smallest king crab legs I've ever seen; 6 muscles that were so overcooked they not only opened but fled their shells; 3 pieces of sausage; 1.5 seasoned baby potatoes, and one ear of corn not even cut in half. The bill was close to $100 with tip and we didn't have any alcoholic beverages. I won't be back.

Loved the atmosphere. Service was exceedingly friendly, even during a busy period. The food I received wasn’t so good. My King Crab was over-boiled to near tastelessness, and the seared tuna was pretty bland as well, even for seared tuna. The place was very clean, the people were a delight, service was good, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and I had such high hopes for a decent crab meal. Many of the other reviews here are great, and I overheard other patrons talking about how pleased they were with their meals, so obviously they make some pretty good dishes. Unfortunately, the plates I picked tonight didn’t cut it. Tasteless King Crab in a crab restaurant on the coast just doesn’t do it. I may go again to try something else next time I am in town — the people and atmosphere really were great, so I would be willing to try once more — but I think next time I might start with some dishes that have received consistently high mention here, in the hopes of turning out a different experience next round.

Seriously, everything was excellent at the restaurant, from the food to the service! I had 24 people in my group (with 2 buses ahead of us) and they had us taken care of in minutes. That's just amazing in my book.... Do try the shrimp and grits! You will thank me for it!

I regularly find the bartending here to be absolutely pathetic. The well of the bar is completely devoid of any personnel for 15 minutes at a time, all the while the 2 bartenders talk on the phone and shuffle items around in a purse. These people must have way too much money, because their work product quality is total garbage. I’ve seen it too many times, where even a glass of water is a 25 minute wait and takes multiple asks to receive.

The waitress had no personality. The only time she acted friendly was when it was time for her tip. The food was disappointing. The crabs were super fresh, which was the only meal we enjoyed. The crab cakes and fries were salty, and green beans were extremely disappointing because for this restaurant to be located in South Carolina where farmers were all around and for them to be severing CAN green beans was beyond ridiculous; If that wasn't bad enough, our lemonade was from the fountain. What happened to good old fresh squeeze Southern lemonade with lite on sugar? We were visiting Charleston for the weekend and was disappointing the service and food quality we received. Here is my recommendation when it comes to preparing foods; because salt and pepper are already on the table, the cook shouldn't need to sprinkle salt on any food.

First time at this location, so happy to make the extra drive! Easier parking than the Market location and the views are spectacular.
I’m from Dungeness crab country and I know it’s not local, but decided to give it a try. Just WOW is all I can say. Tasted like it was swimming an hour ago. And the cost (although who cares, right?) Half of a plump crab, served with about a dozen peel and eat shrimp and 2 sides for $32. That’s more than a great deal! If you want the true Dungeness experience without going to the Pacific NW, this is it.

Update: even the view can't save this place anymore. So sad to see the decline in both the food and the cleanliness. I've seen cleaner bathrooms in Greyhound bus depots. Not appetizing

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy exquisite seafood dishes while looking at the boats passing by along the riverside.
