I'm disheartened and in utter shock to leave here with a 1 star rating. Unfortunately for Chasing Sage, this was well deserved. The food is horrible. The worst I've had in a long time. Sorry. The food saturated in salt. More than salt for favor. Like buckets worth it tasted like. The vegetables were bitter and lacked any sort of flavor profile. I hope you don't have as bad an experience as we did.

This review is LONG overdue. My sister & I visited Charleston July 2023. The night we flew in from Seattle we had Chasing Sage for dinner - what a delight! From the atmosphere to the food to the incredible staff and chef, it was an amazing experience. My sister and I still randomly bring up our experience at Chasing Sage, and how delicious the food was. Honestly, we'll probably be back to SC and this place is a decent part of the reason why. Cannot express enough how much we enjoyed this place! *edit to add that at the time there was some sort of a seasonal drink on the menu that included peas and my sister thought it was to die for!

Food was excellent! Definitely get the tasting menu! The dishes were a good size for my wife & I to share. They accommodated her with providing a pescatarian option for main course. Great service & atmosphere was warm & laid back. Can’t recommend this gem highly enough!

Our favorite restaurant during our time in Charleston! I wish we would’ve done the chef courses menu to get more variety, but everything we ordered was perfect. So creative and a great use of seasonal and local produce. You can tell there’s so much thought and care put into each dish. Expect to spend about $80 a person, but it’s so worth it.Our waiter was incredible and made our night so much better! Definitely get the butterscotch pudding if they still have it on their menu! :)

Beautiful restaurant for sure. Although a bit loud if you are over a party of four, can see how it would be hard to communicate if you visit during peak dining. We came with the intention of sitting at the bar. This may have been a mistake. We were not greeted officially for about 4 or 5 minutes once the hostess showed us to the bar, even though we were right in front. Too busy making drinks to look up and smile. The service was pretty much this way all throughout. We were patient. Drinks came and were made to perfection, my husband had In a Nutshell. We ordered a few dishes to share. We got the smoked fish falafels which were tasty but had a hard time finding the fish. The dumplings with peas and morels were the star. The expediter was very competent at explaining all dishes, but again, felt very rote. I guess we left feeling like we had a nice meal in a beautiful restaurant with people who may need some rest. On our way out my husband told the apparent manager "thank you," to which she did not acknowledge. Oh well, We tried. Probably will not visit again when we return in May for Spoleto.

Small tastings menu, but that works well for a small group. Food was both interesting & delicious. Will return. Fine service by Gracie.

This restaurant has great ambiance and a laid back feel. Perfect after a long work week. The piscine d'ours aren't on the menu but are fantastic!

We made reservations and were promptly seated upon arrival. Our server was very animated and knowledgeable about the menu. Our table of 3 ordered 6 plates to share plus dessert. Overall, the food was savory but I was not blown away by any of the dishes. Thus, why I gave 3 stars. The menu tends to change like many restaurants in Charleston. I think my favorite dish was the fish falafel. I have eaten at many tapas restaurants, however the portions at this particular restaurant were smaller than I would have liked. I would not say that I left feeling satiated. I am not a local and I am not sure if I would come back to this restaurant if I were in town.
