I’ve been in many coffee shops around my life, but there’s something about Clerks that just makes it THE place to go for coffee in Charleston.Baristas are super nice! Specially Haley, that day I couldn’t tip (money’s running low) but she was still so nice! Came the next month to tip her double for the same incredible coffee!Cannot recommend this place enough! 10/10

25 minutes in line to get the weakest coffee ever, it was as if they forgot to add fresh coffee to the pot. The poor guys running the place were struggling with every order and the cash register. Won’t be going back.

Bad experience. The cashier was nice and professional. After waiting too long for a breakfast sandwich, I inquired. The barista/cook asked which sandwich and then said someone else took it and just looked at me. I had to ask him to make me one as I had paid. No apology, no friendly customer service, just dropped the box on the counter. Sandwich was soggy and salty. It was a waste of $20. However, the cashier was polite and professional.

Atmosphere was nice, so were the baristas. Ordered an iced latte with pistachio rose and an iced matcha. Would not recommend the matcha because it was grainy and not properly made. Iced latte was good!

Great vibes and atmosphere. The service staff were all nice and welcoming. The coffee was pretty bad, and the food was meh. Really mixed bag.
Great vibe! Sweet people and yummy coffee! Service was good. Hung out for a while even got some work done!

This review is not for their coffee service. I was staying at the hotel and wasn't feeling well in the morning. By 3:00 pm, I decided to get a bite from clerks as I hadn't eaten yet. I was a bit confused with their sandwich offerings as you couldn't find a description anywhere. I finally asked a staff person and they led me to a case where they had sample sammies set up. I ordered a mortadella on focaccia as it was the simplest. The gentleman warmed up the sandwich and I walked out into the sunshine looking forward to enjoying it. I took one small bite and was immediately turned off by an orange hued spread that was just doused all over the bread and meat. I don't know what it was, (I didn't see it on the sample and the guy didn't bother to mention it) but it just overpowered the delicate soft focaccia and the barely there Mortadella. (So thinly sliced and such a stingy serving, you probably wouldn't even taste it anyway). To add insult to injury it was over $15. How and why a food service establishment that caters to the public can get away with not listing ingredients for everything they create in their kitchen is a mystery to me. I would have gladly eaten more of the focaccia but both pieces were covered in that orange goo. I brought the sandwich upstairs, and my husband reacted to it the same way. It literally went into the trash. Wasteful and unfortunate but easily avoidable had the coffee house just listed what was on their sandwiches so there were no surprises.

Went to do some homework but trying to find parking was a journey. There is a parking lot right across the street, but it was a bit pricey. My original intention was to go and do work but I didn't want to pay for all the hours there and it was pretty busy, but it was also a weekend so no real surprise. Service was good, I got a chai tea latte that was enjoyable. The inside is nice and trendy. There's a lot of seating, but have to get there at a good time to ensure a seat, especially if you need an outlet for your electronics. Good spot to do work, read, chit chat, or play games as long as you don't mind background noise.

We visited Clerks three separate times during our vacation in Charleston. Their seasonal lattes were delicious, the staff were very friendly, and it had a great, modern vibe. If you're a coffee enthusiast, Clerks is a legit spot for good espresso drinks.
