Service with a smile, and helpful. Great for takeout. As good as anything in the area. Although not located on the estuary, and situated in a strip mall, The fried seafood was perfect.
So I gave this place a honest try. When I first walked in I noticed the shark decor so I was digging it, but then I noticed how unclean things looked. I figured, I'd still give it a honest try since I didn't have much time. So I got my food and it wasn't that bad. A little thin and overcooked but it was still ok. But one thing that really killed it for me was the mold in the ice machine. I took the picture and told the woman at the counter, she seemed shocked.... But as I sit there and ate (20 mins at least) no one came to clean the ice machine.... It's probably still moldy. Ice machines need to be cleaned out daily to prevent mold. This one looked extremely bad..... So be aware if you get sick, you know why. 🦈💙
I'm from eastern North Carolina, close to the coast, but the seafood at Cod Tail Seafood and Chicken out performed just about all the seafood restaurants I've dined at. The quality and flavor of the items that I had this evening definitely tasted fresh and undeniably delicious.
Great hot delicious food, large portions, friendly customer service
The girl that took out order was on the phone, and constantly looking out the windows outside, definitely not concentrated on taking orders (looked busy with her personal life). I had chicken (chicken was very try, it's sooooo thin, so shouldn't take long to cook) and shrimp (witch was delicious)
They are a great value for your money
This was a really bad experience for me. Walking the place and it is dirty and smells bad. Being in Charleston you would think that the fish was fresh. It was definitely frozen. The fries were cooked in the same oil as the frozen fish. You could taste it. The bathrooms were nasty as well. Overall a very bad experience, food and atmosphere
Food was delicious, service was excellent! Definitely recommend it!

Just ate her two minutes ago and my husband is throwing up. He had the chicken wings and shrimp which are unflavored. The shrimp still had the peeling on it. My meal was ok but I don't care for potatoes in my seafood, wish I could substitute something out like a side of okra. Sweet tea was old and Ranch was sour. My crab legs were over cooked which normally isn't a problem but all you have is plastic crackers and plastic forks. Will never eat here again

I took my kiddos to Cod Tail Seafood & Chicken in West Ashley for it's the closest seafood restaurant to the American Red Cross (I had just finished donating that morning) and I want to inform the local community that we had THE TASTIEST seafood boil from there. We ordered the garlic and butter pan with 2 sizeable snow crab legs and a pound each of: shrimp, sausage, crawfish (replaced with shrimp), mussels, potatoes and corn. They served it in a heaping 9" x 13" pan. It was amazingly good! I'm from the Philippines and I can put down some seafood, and my kids can eat! That last photo shows our leftovers, good for 3 more family dinners for this coming week.
Kid-friendliness: Kids' TV was up so it was entertaining for my 8 year old.
