If you are looking for a "Cheers" atmosphere this is it!! PJ is so welcoming and makes everyone feel like family. The beer is brewed with care and so flavorful. It is dog friendly and the popcorn machine is such a treat. If you are looking for a brewery while visiting Charleston, this is the best choice.

Nice little hidden gem! I can’t remember the woman’s name that bartends there but she’s awesome! Very knowledgeable about the brewery scene and the story behind them. They are dog friendly and have games you can play.

I almost never leave reviews. If I don't like some place I usually just wont return. Sadly, my experience here was so poor I felt the need to make an exception. I don't drink but I was next door at Brewlab for the plant sale. Unfortunately, nature called suddenly and I needed to make a run for it. The only men's stall at Brewlab was occupied so I had to make a dash over here to avoid any major embarrassment. On the way out the the female bartender was not very friendly. I don't remember her remarks exactly but they came off accusatory like "Can I GET you anything?" or something to that effect. I didn't think much of it and went back to join my friends. Sadly, my stomach wasn't done with me. I tried once again to go to the stall at Brewlab but it was still occupied by the same person as before. I had to run over here again which I didn't want to have to do but my bottom said it's your only choice. THIS time, the woman at the bar was much more confrontational and the man at the bar found me needing to use the bathroom again important enough to walk from behind the bar away from the other patrons and physically block me from trying to get to the bathroom saying this isn't a public bathroom and you have to pay. I tried to explain my issue and that the bathroom next door wasn't available. This didn't matter to him. In my desperation I pulled out the first credit card in my wallet and told him, "What do you want me to buy?". He said "a beer". I quickly pushed it into his hands as I did my best to get to the toilet in time. After having completed what I had to do, I went out and up to the bar. This man had the audacity to still charge me for the beer from your establishment. Needless to say I didn't take the stupid beer which he didn't even attempt to pour or ask me what I wanted nor did I tip. I had some choice words for him and the woman on the way out. If this is how your staff treats people with stomach or other medical issues, I don't want to know how they treat other people in their lives. Is your bottom line so bad that this is your priority? They didn't know if I was a local or a visitor. If I was a visitor this would leave a sour taste in my mouth for the whole area. Fortunately, I know most people in Charleston are kind, understanding, and caring. Sadly, the lot working the bar today were NOT. I will NOT be recommending Cooper River Brewing Company to any of my friends and family that do enjoy the occasional beer or adult beverage due to the way I was treated today.

Stopped in to grab a to-go six pack of the Blonde Ale and ended up staying until closing hanging out with Brett!! He is 100% the reason we stayed and tried all the beers. He is so friendly and did a great job advertising all the different types of beer and seltzers. My wife and I enjoyed The Florist Tea Lager and the Pina Colada Seasonal Seltzer. We need both available in cans!!!! So good. We live in Raleigh and will definitely be back to visit Brett here!!! He is amazing!!!!

Excellent beer and atmosphere. Only draw back is the cornhole bags aren’t very good.
