We had the best lunch at Cru Cafe while visiting Charleston. Everything about this experience was top notch. The food, the service and the atmosphere. The Fried Green Tomatoes and the Mussels were out of this world. They were some of the best Mussels I’ve ever had. What made this experience the best was the service and how they made it really easy to have our toddler there. They brought us upstairs to have a comfortable place to change our son and they checked in regularly to make sure he was enjoying his meal. The prices are very reasonable and you get to watch the horse drawn carriages walk by every few minutes.
Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating with our 2 year old. They did everything to make it special for him and easy for us.

Delicious meal. I had the Thai seafood risotto and it was fantastic. The tomato mozzarella salad starter was also very good. Be aware there are no liquor drinks available, but they have a very nice wine and beer list including an assortment of local beers.

Cru was fantastic! Such a gem of a restaurant. Tucked away from the fray in what feels like someone's home! Tiny dining room with the most delicious food! I honestly wish this was the first restaurant we ate at on our trip because I would have eaten all my dinners here! The service was excellent and friendly. Simply a lovely experience all around!

Ate here years ago with some friends who were foodies in Charleston. When we came back we decided to give it a try again as our son’s name is Cru. Wife had the caprese salad it was well presented and delicious. I had the Cru burger it was hand patted juicy and delicious. You can’t tell from the picture but it was a thick burger cooked to a great medium temperature paired with truffle parmesan fries for the win. Highly recommend this place as it was great and will be back someday
