Unimpressed with pizza. Tried again because location is convenient. Burger wasn’t great either. Management openly berated employee :(

Ordered Deluxe pizza to go this evening. I went to pick it up. I've ordered this many times. Always great! NOT TONIGHT. Half was burned, hardly any cheese or other toppings. I should have taken it back.

We ordered a calzone for pick up- it was awful- there was almost nothing inside - will not go back

I originally stopped in here after work when I was feeling depressed as truck. I intended to get a single beer and leave. On a whim, I decided to order a Greek salad because I was in the mood for a salad and they had a small size, and also out of curiosity, because everyone who knows, knows that salad is an excellent litmus test of the overall quality of a restaurant; if the salad is bad, the rest of the food is sure to follow in its footsteps.

To my surprise, the salad was excellent; in particular, the greens were fresh, which was truly unexpected for a beer-oriented establishment, and I was genuinely impressed. The rest of the items I have eaten and consumed here have also been surprisingly good. As far as American fare goes, this restaurant is the best I’ve tried on JI, and perhaps in Charleston.

So far, this review has been relatively mundane, and you are losing interest. Dear reader, it is now time to let you into an intensely personal experience I had while dining here. This is our secret.

I ordered the pretzels, for the second time. But they were out. I have a solid food and bev resume, working at multiple restaurants as a bartender and server. Every time we were out of
something, and a guest expressed negative emotions towards the fact, I would always internally scoff. “Just get something else, you silly little nerd,” I would think.

But this time, today, not even a half hour ago, I felt it. An intense wave of grief and sorrow. The pretzels… they were out of them. A single tear made its way out of the corner of my eye. The first time I have cried in 30 years. And now… I get it. No one can really tell you what it’s like until you experience it. I was sad… but for the first time in my life, so, so alive.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Fam’s Brewing Co. Thank you. If I die today, I’m happy how my life turned out. (I ended up getting the bruschetta instead, bee tee dubski.)

The prices are fair for what you get, which is YUMMY! 😋
My biggest complaint is that there are too many great options to choose from! 🤣 The option to choose 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas really helped with this though.

We had:
1/2 The Meats: This was my least favorite, but I'm not a huge meat pizza fan.
Philly Cheese Steak: Everything you'd want it to be!
1/2 The White: Subtle, fresh flavors.
The Italia Calzone: Soooooo good!! The pizza sauce was ok; more on the tomato side, less spices.

We will definitely be back! 🍕

Best service of our entire trip to Charleston! The Chicago pizza was amazing as well as the beer!

Went today for the Chucktown Brewdown. Love that Justin and team support the homebrew community and put on a great event.

My wife and I had dinner at Fam's. We ordered a pizza and I was hoping for better. I would say it was average. I had 2 ale beers which was fantastic. Our waitress was Alexus, and she was awesome.

Great pizza and beer. Make sure to pick up expertly canned 4 packs of their brews to take home!

Arrived hungry & thirsty. Enjoyed a good burger & a small pizza. Attentive staff. Enjoyed the dark beers, very tasty.

While visiting some friends in Charleston they took us here. The pizza was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the drinks as well. Deep dish Chicago style all the way!!

This place was amazing! Great service! The food was so so so good.. in fact , it was so good we ate here twice in one day! We had the pizza and Bruschetta.
