A husband and wife team run this venue and are keeping the jazz torch alight for Charleston. It’s set up more like a small showroom vs fancy jazz lounge… but don’t let that deter you. If you love jazz, make Forte a routine to keep live jazz alive in town.
We saw the Great American Songbook show. The staff was great and we really enjoyed the music.
Extraordinary experience!!! We love it!
I love this place. Me and my wife had a wonderful time. The staff was amazing. The place was clean. The dessert was good The music was awesome! I'm definitely coming back with some friends.
Great vibe and music, loved the chocolate martini
Amazing show!!!!! My girlfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day, it was a very welcoming environment to an lgbtq couple. Definitely recommend, wonderful performance!
Had a great time here! After being warmly welcomed at the front door/lobby, I settled into my seat and watched a mix of locals and visitors enter. All ages; nice to see the interest from a mixed audience. The musicians on Wednesday night were well-rehearsed. The pianist, Abdiel Iriarte, is gifted. This was such a nice and mature alternative to the rowdiness of the other King St bars. Volume was between 60-80 dB. (Very comfortable.)
The music was great.
It was a great night out with my wife. The music was great and the ambiance was amazing. The live band brought everything together. I would highly recommend you go to Forte Jazz Lounge and experience a wonderful night out!
Just lovely! Amazing time!

Went for motown show. Excellent all around. Owner and wife very helpful. Seating comfortable
Nice place. They advertised that tonight the artist or should I say BS ARTIST would be playing Soul, R&B and Motown hits. The artist comes on stage, tells the audience he will only be playing songs by solo artists we all know from 1960-1980 and that he will play ALL requests. He asks the audience to write it down and say whether it is a special occasion.
I write that it is my wife's birthday and she LOVES RAY CHARLES. I request he play America the Beautiful, Georgia and/or Hit the Road Jack.
He reads my request out loud and mentions it is my wife's birthday. He then says he will not be playing any Ray Charles tonight and come back to his next show. It was insulting and a big disappointment. I spoke to the manager and the owner and the manager who both made excuses and blew me off. I could have chosen 5 other shows to go to but I chose this venue because of their advertisement.
Ray Charles is a pioneer of Soul and R&B. Just Google his name. Instead I listened to songs that were not even written until after 1980.
Totally classless. Ruined my wife's birthday by announcing her name and birthday and then ignored her.
Had the best time. Music was great. Thank you.
Beautiful place with awesome entertainment! The seating options are very comfortable and not a bad seat in the house
Really enjoying the American Songbook tonight! Lots of great tunes by Sinatra, Cole Porter etc. the band’s instrumental was incredible too. Thank you! Highlight of our time in South Carolina so far! This is posted halfway through the gig but I’m sure the rest of it will be just as good :)
