If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Hands down the best food I’ve had in my life thus far. The wagyu was immaculate, the tomahawk was incredibly flavorful. The staff were intelligent and efficient. Every server that came by to speak to us were so friendly. The overall look of the restaurant was beautiful and cozy. I would come back monthly at least if I lived in Charleston.
We dined here recently after a family day trip to Charleston and are so glad we did! My wife loved the braised duck and for channelling my inner “The Great Outdoors” steak moment I chose the amazing Tomahawk ribeye which was amazing!!! The ample leftovers will definitely not be going to the dogs!
Dinner for four great friends @ Halls Chophouse. Great table upstairs. This establishment is epitome of fine dining and the perfect illustration of what a chophouse truly is. The ambiance, decor, excellent service, drinks and food are absolutely wonderful and Halls should be on your dining list if you are in Charleston. We had the signature 🌶️ 🍸 followed by the fried green 🍅 , bone in filet mignon (wet aged), petite filet (wet aged), rack of lamb, sautéed 🍄🟫 , creamed spinach, broccolini and finished with the whiskey bread pudding (4 🥄) . Would recommend all of the aforementioned offerings. Really love that the menu clearly describes the choice of temperatures for all of the meats. The owner stopped by our table for a chat and answered a menu question without hesitation. His recommendation was spot on!!! We will certainly reserve a table @ Halls the next time that we are in town.

This is a flourishing business full of regular customers that not only know the staff but each other. There’s a lot oh hugging on a Saturday night more like a party than an eating establishment. Not being from Charleston myself I can’t say for sure but it sure appears to be the Heart and Soul of the city. And they double down on that for Sunday ‘s Gospel brunch. Amen, Amen Amen! All together now..
My husband and I traveled here from Charlotte for a 2 night getaway.. treated ourselves to dinner here first night. Husband’s meal of wet aged 12 is filet was wonderful. My 6oz grass fed filet was horrible..dry and tough. I was too uncomfortable telling them as they were so attentive with everything. But, after dropping $270 for 2 meals—- definitely would not get me to return. Any cut of meat here should have been excellent!

During our visit to Charleston last week we had the pleasure of dining at Hall’s Chophouse. From the moment we entered the restaurant it was a first class experience. This restaurant is on two levels - they have a lift but not an elevator. My husband has mobility challenges and I was not aware of this until we arrived. Thankfully they seated us on the first floor but I think it’s important for guests to be aware of this. We were seated in the back room which has a very lively bar scene - we loved it. Our server, Elizabeth, came over to meet us and take our drink orders. Hall’s has an amazing wine list - you can order by the glass, half or full bottles. I asked Elizabeth if it would be okay for us to split a steak and a couple of sides and she said absolutely. I should also note that all the sides are served family style but they will size them down for two people. We started with the the Classic Wedge Salad - their blue cheese dressing was fabulous./. We split a 16 ounce Wet Aged Ribeye which was the most delicious steak we have ever had - not sure if it was the seasoning or the distributor they get their meat from but it was outstanding. Also, I told her my husband likes his steak to be medium-rare but I prefer medium and asked her if it would be possible to cook it somewhere in between. She told me we will split the steak and cook each one accordingly and they did. We also split a baked potato and creamed spinach. Both were amazing. This was truly a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend anyone visiting Charleston to have dinner at Halls Chophouse - be sure and make a reservation because they are incredibly busy.

Hands down best steak I've ever had and we frequent steakhouses all around the country wherever we go. Everything we had was cooked perfectly, flavorful and above our applications. Even more so the service was absolutely spectacular, attention every detail, The staff was spectacular especially our waitress! I would literally fly down from New Jersey again just for dinner here!

Not enough great things can be said about this place. It feels inadequate to write anything less than a novel’s-worth to paint an accurate picture of the a
hospitality, ambience and atmosphere of Hall’s Chophouse. Casual & classy during the day, sophisticated & swanky by night. Holiday decorations are top tier, hospitality is out of this world and I’ll probably regret crushing on an establishment this much bc too many ppl will end up coming so……be classy & respectful…..this is a cherished Chucktown establishment…….but seriously…….be good, we’re watching…..

On our last night in Charleston, SC we had dinner at Hall’s Chophouse and it was truly a wonderful experience. First of all, be sure and make a reservation. This restaurant is very popular. Prior to our arrival I was not aware the restaurant was on two levels - they have a beautiful staircase and apparently there is a lift but not an elevator. My husband is somewhat disabled so thankfully they sat us in a room on the first floor. Our server, Elizabeth greeted us and we ordered a half bottle of Chardonnay to start. Hall’s has a wonderful wine list which wines by the glass, half and full bottles. I asked Elizabeth if it would be okay to share a steak, salad and sides and she said absolutely so that is what we did. We started with the Wedge Salad which was delicious. Their blue cheese dressing was outstanding. We then split a 16 ounce Wet Aged Rib Eye which was singularly the best steak we have ever tasted. It was fabulous and cooked perfectly. We also split a baked potato and creamed spinach (they will downsize this for two people). Hall’s was so accommodating, the service was outstanding as was the food. Highly recommend this restaurant.

EXCEPTIONAL!!! From the moment you walk in, every single staff member immediately and warmly greets you. The manager came over while we were waiting, shook our hands, and welcomed us. These touches truly set the tone for the experience you’re about to have. The ambiance is perfect, warm, beautiful, cozy. Our server, Husein was truly incredible. Genuine, kind, engaging, accommodating and knowledgeable. We felt like we were dining with an old friend. Both my husbands old fashioned and my mocktail were delicious. The tuna tartare was phenomenal. The servers wait at the table for you to cut into your steak to ensure it’s cooked as ordered (and ours was done perfectly). Our sides were delicious, and my scallop and risotto was perfectly done. This is what I expect at this level of dining where many miss the mark, but Halls sets the standard. This will be on our itinerary any time we visit Charleston.
