I have been enjoying High Wire's signature product, Jimmy Red for about the last 5 years. After several trips to Charleston I was finally able to take a tour. The first thing you notice when walking in the door is the lovely aroma. Our bartender/tour guide Katie did an excellent job explaining the history of High Wire and their products. After the tour we enjoyed a nice tasting session. We tried some of their other liquors all of which were excellent. A word to the wise, if they have their peach brandy do yourself a favor and grab a bottle.
We did their distillery tour with Katie and it was fantastic and very informative. Absolutely highly recommended! Also their products and cocktails at the bar are incredible.
Had an incredible time! Katie's friendly service and attention were a highlight of our visit to Charleston. Every single whiskey expression is unique worth exploring! Their thoughtfuly ballanced cocktails and food are some of the best in town. Katie's tour was a great time, thanks for nerding out about whiskey with us!
Awful parking situation, very difficult to find parking. When I did find parking I was towed, . Car is not safe in their lot, which is micro managed by the owner 24/7. Nothing woo’ed me excep high ceiling frankly.
Great find in Downtown Charleston. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Casual surroundings serving snacks and spirits. The still is the focal point backdrop to the main space. The shelves are lined with Jimmy Red whiskey. Enjoyed a few cocktails and a few flights. Had Fields of Gold which features their Hat Trick Gin. Interesting combo of flavors with the gin, horchata, and lemon. And tried the Sporting Life, a mocktail with hibiscus, blueberry, currant, lemon, and cinnamon. Two flights are an available and tried each. The Jimmy Red Bourbon and the Intro To High Wiree which included rye whiskey, bourbon, gin, and amaro. Seating available at the bar, tables, and sofa area. Merchandise also for sale.
We had a great experience! It is very unique and has great-tasting bourbon!
We were drawn to Highwire Distillery based on an article in the local Post and Courier featuring the Jimmy red corn bourbon. We enjoyed a flight of four bourbons and then a wonderful Old Fashion. Our bartender Katie was very knowledgeable with the various bourbons. We highly recommend Highwire Distillery!
Nice bar great bourbon!
Great distillery and tasting room. Wide variety of products that are enjoyed all over. Heck, even found this bottle in Baton Rouge, LA.
Nice visit today to taste a few of their (really good) bourbons. Nice service at the bar too. A few snacks on the menu - we had the fries “southern style” with pimento cheese and aioli mayo. Really good. Nice local spot to hang out for a bit. We stopped by to meet the visiting SLB Basement Bourbon Bar (Youtube) crew.

Excellent options. Mike and Katie were very helpful and friendly. The amaro is our favorite. We purchased a couple of bottles. Good amount of parking is a plus. Highly recommend High Wire.
We visited High Wire Distilling on Monday evening when we were in Charleston for a few days. Whiskey made with red corn sounded intriguing, so we came in to try some of their spirits. The staff was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about all their whiskies. We got two flights and tasted 6-8 different spirits. The Abruzzi Rye whiskey was one of our favorites, but we ended up going home with a bottle of the Sherry Cask Finish. We loved how sophisticated and complex it was on the palate. I thought the Jimmy Red Classic was very sippable. The Single Barrel Cask was a nice and spicy. I also liked their Hat Trick Botanical Gin.
Not a fan of your smoked jimmy red, harsh profile taste. Won’t but again
Definitely NOT dog friendly!!!!
Go here!! If you're in Charleston and want a distillery that is actually making good stuff, meant to be enjoyed and explored and not just buried in an artificial cocktail, this is the place. After being very disappointed at another local distillery, we went here and got a flight, cocktail and snack. I immediately bought two bottles and took the tour. Katie did a great job explaining things simply as well as giving nerdy details. We will come back here every time we're in the area.
