We had a great experience! It is very unique and has great-tasting bourbon!
We were drawn to Highwire Distillery based on an article in the local Post and Courier featuring the Jimmy red corn bourbon. We enjoyed a flight of four bourbons and then a wonderful Old Fashion. Our bartender Katie was very knowledgeable with the various bourbons. We highly recommend Highwire Distillery!
Nice bar great bourbon!
Great distillery and tasting room. Wide variety of products that are enjoyed all over. Heck, even found this bottle in Baton Rouge, LA.
Nice visit today to taste a few of their (really good) bourbons. Nice service at the bar too. A few snacks on the menu - we had the fries “southern style” with pimento cheese and aioli mayo. Really good. Nice local spot to hang out for a bit. We stopped by to meet the visiting SLB Basement Bourbon Bar (Youtube) crew.
Excellent options. Mike and Katie were very helpful and friendly. The amaro is our favorite. We purchased a couple of bottles. Good amount of parking is a plus. Highly recommend High Wire.
We visited High Wire Distilling on Monday evening when we were in Charleston for a few days. Whiskey made with red corn sounded intriguing, so we came in to try some of their spirits. The staff was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about all their whiskies. We got two flights and tasted 6-8 different spirits. The Abruzzi Rye whiskey was one of our favorites, but we ended up going home with a bottle of the Sherry Cask Finish. We loved how sophisticated and complex it was on the palate. I thought the Jimmy Red Classic was very sippable. The Single Barrel Cask was a nice and spicy. I also liked their Hat Trick Botanical Gin.
Not a fan of your smoked jimmy red, harsh profile taste. Won’t but again
Definitely NOT dog friendly!!!!
Go here!! If you're in Charleston and want a distillery that is actually making good stuff, meant to be enjoyed and explored and not just buried in an artificial cocktail, this is the place. After being very disappointed at another local distillery, we went here and got a flight, cocktail and snack. I immediately bought two bottles and took the tour. Katie did a great job explaining things simply as well as giving nerdy details. We will come back here every time we're in the area.

Excellent tastings and the cocktails are an underrated gem. Highly recommend
James Beard Award drew me to this place. And they had it right. Absolutely loved the bourbon. The place, the distillery is impeccable. We went just before evening and were serviced by two lady bartenders who were very knowledgeable, kind and got their recommendations absolutely spot on 💯We tried the flights and then a boulvadier- loved the detail that for the cocktails most of the ingredients they try to get the best ones and sometimes end up making themselves. Place deserves more reviews, respect and more 💕. The bourbon is a must purchase - $78 a bottle
Excellent service and product! Highly recommend. Their product also makes a great whiskey sour, sazarac, and old fashioned!
They use Johnny Red corn and have exclusive rights to it. Impressive process.
Friendly staff, good bourbon, specialty drinks delicious!.
Fantastic place to host any event for large groups, dinners, meetings, etc.
