We were from out of town on a Monday….had a party of 8….stood in the line to the door only to be told everyone in the party had to be there to be seated…guess we could not even get a drink with 100 plus degrees outside….already not customer friendly. Within a few minutes, the rest of the party arrived, but we had to stand in the line AGAIN! We waited about 15 minutes before a server came to get our drink order…. and the drinks did not even have ice in them….are you kidding me?? So we placed our order….arrived over 30 plus minutes later….we had kids meals priced at $15…..the bill was over $170…..with the tip…the kid meal cost more than the adult meal. Who charges $15 for a little plate of chicken nuggets and French fries? ADVICE TO HOLY CITY: DON’T have a kid’s menu if you charge adult prices…ridiculous! DON’T go there with children….DON’T go there if you want ice in your drinks on a 100 plus degree day and ONLY GO if you have plenty of TIME to waste waiting on your food and to receive an outrageous bill. I did call the manager the next day…no resolve…..a waste of my time.

It’s the first place that comes up when we’re trying to decide where to have a fun family afternoon. And it is pristine and the people that work there clearly care so much about the place and the customers. I mean the people that were working the last time I was there were saints. I can’t believe they didn’t kick us out after the first time my three-year-old peed on the floor. Not even after the second. The food never disappoints. we always leave happy !!

So disappointed in holy city brewing.. We have been coming for several years since it was small and just starting out. We drive 4 hours to celebrate our anniversary here. We brought our kids to celebrate this time. Needless to say it was terrible. For starters in the past the service was wonderful this time it was just awful. The woman who served us was so not friendly and very gruff. She took our order and she brought beer to my husband never asked him what size, she just assumed the largest. Then served it once with the cup not filled up because as she walked she splashed out of the cup served it to our table and spilled more. Never asked us how we wanted our burgers cooked. Food took so long to come out. Then after it all and spending $98 for our meal… so over priced now for what you get. A thin smash burger and now we pay for fries. I gave her cash she asked if I wanted change back. I said yes, because I obviously wanted to add it to her tip she gave me attitude left the table came back put my receipt and a $1 bill on the table. And left. Not a thank you have a good Evening nothing. She never gave me all my change back. Unreal. I couldn’t believe how we got treated. So for that she didn’t get much of a tip. They went bigger.. sometimes going bigger isn’t best. Now we the consumer is paying for it and we get treated like crap. Just another number. Typically we buy cups and beer to take home I was so disgusted we left. Never will we be back so sad.

Great brewery, a Charleston staple. Huge place, inside and outside. Lots of interesting brews to sample and a food menu with something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit.

We get to Charleston at least once a year and head to Holy City Brewery every time. I stock up on great beer, and we have a wonderful meal. Shawn greeted us and started the experience off right this time. We usually play outside, but it was hot that day. The wings are my go-to. Honestly, everything on the menu is good. The entire vibe of Holy City is on point. It looks great, feels good, and people are genuinely kind. If we retire that way, I hope to work there. We love it! Don't change a thing. Thank you for great memories over the years.

First time stopping in. The oysters were amazing. The bartenders were great. Very attentive. Probably some of the best bar service we’ve had in a while. Each bartender was attentive and friendly. And of course, the local beer was awesome.
