If you could rent this place at 10 stars for food service and atmosphere I would. Definitely hits one of the top restaurants in Charleston in all of those categories. Highly recommend. Yours truly, a foodie

The words Honeysuckle Rose. This place was soo amazing I had to go to google to find new ways to describe it. The food was exquisite!!! The service was top notch. They even took my jacket when I came in. Special shout out to Shane !!! He was the host super knowledgeable on all the wines. The wine complimented the dinner very well this was some of the best food I ever tasted. Super fancy !!! Shout out to Honeysuckle Rose

My wife and I celebrated our birthdays dining at the chef’s counter and were blown away by the food and service. It felt like we walked into the owners’ dining room. The portions were perfect, and the staff guided us through each course with beautifully paired wines. I could not recommend this restaurant more.

We came to Honeysuckle Rose to celebrate our 5 year anniversary while traveling in Charleston. This was easily the most exquisite meal we have ever had! The food was complex and flavorful and the wine pairings were expertly curated to accompany each dish. You won't be disappointed by this choice. I wouldn't be surprised if you hear they recive a Michelin Star soon because they are Michelin quality for sure. Compliments to the chefs'. What an amazing meal.

This was one of the best food experiences of my life! All other restaurants are now ruined for me! It is nice to see so many passionate people come together to create such an enjoyable dining experience! The food was incredible. I have never tasted such amazing lamb in my entire life. My partner loved the wyagu beef dish. The wines were exceptional and truly complimented the dish completely. We sat at the chef's counter and it was such a fun and unique experience. I am anxious to be able to do this whole experience again :)....."Balanced"

Fantastic meal with a fun atmosphere. The shrimp dish is without a doubt the best dish I’ve ever had in my life. Nearly every table was celebrating a birthday or anniversary so we all got dessert with a candle - see photo of all the little candles

My wife and I were visiting Charleston for the week and made the wise decision to dine at Honeysuckle on our last night there. It was by far our best dining experience in the city, and top 5 all time dinners ever we've been to together. Words alone can't describe the culinary experience, but I'll do my best. You step inside this small, quant building and would not expect what you're about to walk into. We decided to sit at the chef's table so we were able to watch all the magic (which I'd highly recommend if you're a foodie). Before every course, Shane (their amazing wine director) and one of the chefs tells you about the wine and food pairing (I would highly recommend getting the wine pairing with your experience, as it was one of the best I've ever had). We had 8 courses, and each one just kept getting better and better. Our favorites were the scallops, rabbit, and wagyu, but honestly there was nothing that was served that we didn't absolutely love. We ended the experience with an amazing Basque cheesecake which was to die for. The attention to detail with everything was so impressive. Nothing was overlooked and we will never forget this experience. Kudos to the entire Honeysuckle team for creating much more than just a dinner, but an all around culinary delight.

I saw this experience all over Charleston social media and for me this would be a costly adventure but I so wanted to do it. So I was so happy when they offered a petite experience. Though still $150 I was able to justify it with a recent job promotion. And I can not say enough good things about our night. The way they call you a few days ahead to double check on allergies and personalize the place setting made you feel so special. The ambiance and vibe was cozy and trendy at the same time. And the food it was soooo good!!! With little details like the menu in an envelope and a small treat to take home and they didn’t skimp on the quality of what they served. At the end of the night the memories made the price feel like a steal. So happy I treated myself to a night at Honeysuckle Rose. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Overall, this was a positive experience but they certainly have some things to work on. I’ll list the goods and the bads below.
Good: Shane is amazing at what he does. You can tell he really takes pride in being the drink curator. I don’t drink alcohol so Shane created some really amazing mock tails to compliment the dish. My husband tried each of my drinks and almost was jealous of my drinks over the wine lol.
You can also tell the chef and Kellyanne really take pride in what they do. They love the food business. The food was very unique and you could tell they try and get your moneys worth with the cuts of meat. They also send you home with a tasty treat at the end of the meal.
Now, The Bads: It kinda started out bad. We were initially scheduled for the petit experience but a group ended up buying out the restaurant and our only options were to go to the signature experience for another $200 or reschedule. We are from Atlanta so a refund would have been more happily agreed to. We accepted the higher price for our birthday expecting an out of this world experience. We were told to be there at 5:45 and that the meal would promptly begin at 6. We sat outside til 5:55 in the heat waiting on someone to let us in. Come 6:06, meal hasn’t started yet.
Oyster my husband enjoyed had grit still left in it. I have a shellfish allergy and the third course was brought out to me with shellfish in it. Had I not noticed, I would have ended the night in the hospital. They were apologetic but the correct dish didn’t get brought back out until next course was already being prepared to be served, which put a damper on the metering of the rest of the tasting menu. I ended up having to ask for the majority of the rest of the food be boxed up, and was wasted as our hotel didn’t have a microwave.
In conclusion, the overall quality of the food, and Shane’s amazing hospitality and drink curating was enough to make up for how bad it started off in the front end.
Did I feel I experienced a $500 experience? Absolutely not - I rather have been refunded when the group bought out the place.
Do I feel the petit would have been worth it? Yes - and I feel less mistakes would have been made.

The attention to detail starts before you even sit down, with a phone call to inquiring your water preference, diners names and whether there is anyone in your party that is left handed! Upon arriving you are greeted with a friendly smile the moment you walk through the door, the table is set with place cards that contain your menu for the night along with the wine pairings. The glassware and silverware is polished to perfection and even as they continue to remark your table, it is done “black glove”. At the beginning of the night, the owners Chef Ryan and Kelleanne introduce themselves and explain their reason for creating this style of restaurant. They are true culinary visionaries and consummate hosts! Before each course is presented, they explain the dish and the wine pairing, you can feel and taste the love. Throughout the evening, the entire team is engaging and makes the atmosphere feel like you are at a dinner party with friends!
I highly recommend making this a priority when visiting Charleston or for a celebratory evening.
