DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I made a 5:45pm reservation on a Thursday for my birthday. Ended up walking out after 20 minutes. It’s hard to believe that no one can wait on you even on a night with minimal customers present. We went to TBonz Gill & Grill and had the best time.

Service was amazing, I tried the old blush didn’t really like it it was sour, the french toast & salmon plate was really exceptional though! Server was so nice too.Gives mini paris vibes.

Went for dinner on a Saturday. Cocktails and pimento cheese were good. Entrees took quite a long time. One of our grouper dishes came out cold. Waitress was kind and offered a replacement. That replacement was rubbery and inedible. Manager was also kind and comped the grouper and offered replacement entree or desserts. We just wanted to leave by that time so we took desserts to go. Appreciated managers attempts to resolve the problem but the long initial wait followed by an inedible replacement ruined the experience for us. Reading recent reviews, sounds like others have had similar issues. Some many good restaurants in Charleston, disappointed that this was one of our nice meals out.

Hold tight to your receipts. I tipped on my credit card and it was inflated double which means the line item was manipulated by the waitstaff and entered incorrectly to reflect a much exorbitant tip. I have disputed it with my credit card and will not return due to the dishonesty of this establishments practices

To start off, food was mediocre at best.
They brought me a dirty knife with my steak, literally looked like they grabbed it from another table after somebody used it. Service was slow.
They made a big deal about reservations and charging $25 if you don't show up, but the place was nearly empty. Definitely won't go back.
Food was fantastic although it did take some time to come out. Atmosphere was very picturesque!

Literally the worst experience in Charleston. Our server brought us a bottle of unopened wine and asked us if we wanted to open it..: I’m sorry? I don’t hold a wine opener on me. This was one of many egregious missteps. Hard pass
Not sure why this place is so highly rated, food was disappointing.

Not even remotely close to fine dining...this was an embarrassingly bad experience considering the reputation of the Mills House. My wife (Karla) and I had dinner here this week (locals but first time here) and were incredibly disappointed. We had a 5pm reservation (we have a newborn hence the early res) and walked in around 4:50...4 separate people came up to greet us, none knowing anything about our reservation, ultimately someone said we could hang out at the bar until our table was ready (the dining room was 100% empty). We had a drink at the bar, bartender was friendly and professional. We were seated in dining room a few mins after 5, ordered round of drinks and our meals...after a very long 30+ minute wait (again, the restaurant was nearly empty), we received our dishes. My wife ordered the burger (menu was very limited), medium well....it was rare. I like a medium rare burger, this was too under even for my preference. The server (who's name I don't know since she never shared it...she was very robotic, not the interactive type that are common at higher end places downtown), agreed that the doneness was "unacceptable"...another 25minutes later, my wife was presented with a properly cooked burger. Very little apology was given, at this point my wife was starving. I had the tuna tartare and the octopus, both were satisfactory at best. This was a special occasion for us and we left extremely disappointed and unlikely to return....we should have stuck to our usual go-to places.

Food was sub-par. Service was good though.
We had Christmas dinner here tonight and it was the most average meal I’ve ever had. It was a pre-fix menu. First course was supposed to be amuse selection of holiday bites. It was one item and it was fried spring rolls. They were ok. For the second course I ordered the shrimp and crap bisque. It had an odd taste, 2 shrimp and 2 very little pieces of crab. My husband has gnocchi which was just ok. My son has scallops which he said was good.
Main course my son had lobster which was decent but came with “crispy” rice which was unflavorful fried rice. My husband and I got prime rib which had very little flavor. The potatoes that came with the prime rib were the star of the show. Had I only eaten the potatoes it would have been 10 stars.
Finally dessert, my son and I got sticky toffee pudding which sounded amazing but was just dry cake with a little caramel sauce. Not sticky not good. The ice cream that came on the side was quite good. My husband an almond cake which again was very dry and not great.
Overall for 90/person plus tax tip and cost of drink was the most expensive average to below average meal I’ve had in a long time. Just a side note I’ll happily pay any amount for a great meal. It’s just so disappointing to pay a lot for bad. I personally can’t recommend this place at least on a holiday meal. I can’t speak for their regular menu.

We had Christmas Eve dinner here. It's a lovely location. This place wants to be a fine dining establishment but the food falls short. Our Christmas Eve dinner started out with some chef's selections but they were all served cold. Very unusual. The second course we had scallops and oysters on the half shell which both were impeccable. That's where impeccable stopped. I had the prime rib and it was not even warm. My wife had the lobster and rice but the lobster could have been cooked more. It was translucent. The rice was excellent. And dessert was good. All in all you could not call it fine dining. Some of it came up to that standard. The rest of it fell far below it. We did order drinks as well and they were Short on the alcohol. When you have a hot toddy, you should get the alcohol vapor in your nose when you drink it. That didn't happen. The service was fine and the people friendly. In a fine dining establishment you don't see table runners working with a phone sticking out of their back pocket like we did. They just have to up their game in the kitchen and on the floor. It is a classic venue and it deserves classic performance from the kitchen and the floor.
Kid-friendliness: Saw several kids there and they were accommodated well

Iron Rose was exceptionally bad for an upscale restaurant . They set our table in booths that were pulling apart. The focaccia was a piece of unbaked bread. The “chicken” was like a pressed chicken nuggets that were greasy and gross. McDonald wouldn’t even serve those. It was overall a huge disappointment
