Not good food and a very confused menu. It's like it hasn't been well thought out. What happened to screen door? That was a great spot. Sad to see it replaced with something sub par.

Went for brunch. It was very good, it is advertised as "small plates" but we found the servings to be generous and the food was delicious. I honestly am a little delayed on this review and it may be a 5 star. Will update as we intend to go again.

I love what they did to the place! Not only is it beautiful but relaxing and the smell of the wood burning stove- Delish!!! I went with two other people and we decided to get two different appetizers: the Smoked Trout Spread that came with crostinis but we also asked for some celery and the Sea Scallop appetizer served over Pork Belly both of them were absolutely delicious and good in size also. We had ordered a couple of their craft cocktails from the menu along with three different entrees: the Pork Chop with Succotash, the Swordfish with Bok Choi and Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and their Burger without the bun and but with a side of the Wasabi Mashed Potatoes. I've got to tell you not only did I think all the craft cocktails were excellent but the swordfish was so tender, the scallops were perfectly cooked, I am still craving the Wasabi mashed potatoes and I really enjoyed their rendition of the smoked trout spread. Going back next week with a couple of girlfriends for their happy hour to try more menu items our server was the bartender because we sat in a booth close to the bar I really hope this restaurant makes it because James Island needs a great restaurant like this one.

Brussel sprouts were some of the best I've ever had! Tyler was super friendly and the ribeye was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends!

Finally made it to Brunch and was pleased with my afternoon. I enjoyed everything--the meat and cheese plate, duck confit waffles, crab crostini, and the quiche! The sides of grits and bacon were on point as well. Chef Brian and his crew lit it up. Mike, the bar manager, made some killer cocktails to get me right. The rosemarino was a pleasant twist on an aperol spritz, the cucumber vodka drink was refreshing , and I had too many mezcal margaritas to mention. Fantastic establishment here that keeps bringing the heat!

Excellent food, excellent drink, excellent service. I hope no one reads this so I don't have to wait for a table the next time.

I think this place is a nice addition to James Island. We had a sampling of a few different items to get a feel for the place which included: brussels sprouts duck fat potatoes blue crab bruschetta a burger and an extra order of the potatoes. My comments are as follows: duck fat potatoes were good but they really did not benefit from the duck fat flavoring and would have been better roasted in peanut oil( just my opinion but duck fat can give off a bit of an odd flavor note at times. Brussels sprouts were good, A little light on the flavor but nothing a smidgen of salt didn't care. Thankfully the chef did not overly salt anything which is a welcome relief from most Charleston area restaurants. Crab bruschetta was good but nothing too amazing. And while the burger was nice it could've benefited from a little bit more of an interesting flavor profile and certainly it should've been better blotted of the grease as it had a very overwhelming burnt grease flavor had caramelized onions cheese and I'm assuming housemaid sliced pickles on a nice bun but again the overwhelming flavor profile was slightly burnt grace. Granted it was ordered medium but all the more reason to absorb the extra cooked grease. Nice waitstaff very attractive Decour will definitely return.

SO delicious. We visited for dinner to check it out, and enjoyed it so much came back a couple days later for Sunday Brunch and immediately made reservations for Mother's Day brunch too! Great cocktails, fabulous cheese plate and the Piri Piri Chicken with fried potatoes was so much food I had enough for lunch the next day too! Looking forward to brunch this Sunday!

We were staying in Folly Beach and looking for something other than beach bar dining and were extremely pleased to find James Restaurant. Our dinner was great! Service was extremely good and it was nice to have an option to sit inside or outside considering the location. Will definitely visit again when we return to the area for vacation.

Beautifully renovated and simplified their menu. Great meat and cheese plate. A lot of food for $16. Excellent spot for happy hour. Big plus, 2 regulation bocci courts! Check this place out.
