John King Grill & Dueling Piano Bar

Went to go get drinks on my friends 22 birthday. We are visiting for the week from out of state and the bartender denied us because our IDs weren’t luminescent enough. Whatever that means???

We are on vacation and stopped by this place for dinner as it was close to the hotel! Let me tell you, delicious!!! If you are in Charleston, you MUST try this place! The staff were amazing, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice! The chef even came out and answered a question about an item on the menu! He was so friendly!
The piano bar was not playing this night, which was okay, we enjoyed our quiet dinner!
We had the sampler platter, She-Crab soup, burger with loaded fries, and the Philly cheesesteak with fries!
Highly recommend!

Went for a friend's birthday and our group had a blast, along with everyone there! There were a few different artists playing that night so it was really cool to see them go back and forth. Kind of a funky layout, so definitely get there early if you want a seat. The bartenders were fantastic, super quick and friendly, checked in on us a few times when they noticed our drinks were low. All and all, it's a great place for a group hang

There was a long black hair wrapped around a chicken tender from the meal I ordered. I felt so sick to my stomach and was mortified. I think I’m still recovering.

The music was great, but went on a busy Saturday night. They should have let us know that there wasn't even enough room to stand. Or better yet, not let us in. Waited for 20 minutes at the bar and was never even acknowledged. What a waste of $20!

A large group from the neighborhood had a night out for dinner and the show. Ate first at the restaurant, burgers and a couple pints. The show was really good not too rowdy but had its moments.

Service was good. Food was not that great. I got the wings and a friend got the chicken wrap. Hers wrap was so dry. $14 for one small drink. $40 for 12 wings and one small drink. Wouldn’t go back.
