Kanji Sushi Hibachi - James Island

Sushi quality was top notch, best I’ve had in Charleston. Great fish, great portions. The 3 rolls deal is a great deal.

Stick with the hibachi. The sushi does not taste fresh nor up to par with other sushi locations. I couldn’t eat the crunch roll, the shrimp was tasteless. Sex on the beach roll was just weird. I don’t want thick sauce on sushi and the fish was mushy… stay with hibachi and it’s just ok.

This is the absolute worst food I’ve had in the 10 years I’ve lived in Charleston. Was told the chicken was white meat. It was the nastiest, greasiest, almost undercooked dark meat. The fried rice had zero flavor. I returned it because it was so horrid. I haven’t returned food in as long as I can remember.
My daughter got the udon. It was somehow incredibly sour/bitter. Like really bad. My son’s steak was so chewy he couldn’t eat it. I’m convinced that these guys bought their reviews. No way people think this is 4.4 quality. 🤢

Dont waste ur time or money. Ordered shrimp - got shrimp and steak. Normally, not a big deal - BUT this steak was wayyyyy too done. And the few shrimp I did have were undercooked. Rice was a brown, gummy, seasonless mess. I don't live near this one, thank goodness. When I do come back to Folly Beach, this spot will definitely NOT be on my to do list

Sorry but never seen bright red/tangerine colored tuna- looked like they squeezed shricha on tuna and mushed it up. Cucumber roll tasted like watered down cucumber water . Wish I didn’t waste 16 bucks. Guess I’m the clown who got sushi at this place. Won’t do that again. Sticky tables and sad looking fish.

We've had kanji many times since we live close by. Employees are always nice.
Never had a problem with orders ever!
I love the veggie hibachi. Their rice & their white "yum yum" style sauce is super yummy! Matches my taste buds. Not too sweet. Goes really well with their rice.
Prices are fine in my opinion. Good portions!
We do dine in and take out.

The food was excellent I have not one complaint. I love a good teriyaki sauce and omg the sauce really won me over. They give you a good portion of food and the old bay sushi phenomenal!
