The Frenchman was rude and doesn't think too highly of American women. NOW, i got a reply from 'owner' that my critique is 'inappropriate to their country (I am guessing France) and to American women? Bottom line, the male server (?cook? or ?owner?) made unnecessary snide remarks about American women (not me, lol) and behaved rudely towards me directly. -witnessed by five other adults in our party. Food was amazing. In the email response they assured me they would be able to accomodate a party of 8--and they did. But the Frenchman (and I am assuming he is French) was cocky!

I went to this shop last year on my trip to my friends wedding. Out of curiosity as I saw lots one 1 star reviews about how rude the owner is. But at the same time all good reviews stated how good the foods is. I actually went to all the bakeries in the city, tried all the croissants because I loved croissants. And the croissants here are the best. To me, the owners are very nice, but they demand respect and they are very straightforward which I prefer. As we should always respect each other. Anyway, thank you again for your hard work and I wish you the best!

Such an amazing yet small place. The inside is quaint and well decorated. The seating outside made us feel like we were a thousand miles away and not in downtown Charleston. The owner/baker is incredibly friendly and took the time to talk with each of us while making sure that the food was fresh and we were comfortable. We tried nearly one of everything but our favorite was the croque monsieur. It was so well crafted and tasted amazing heated up. I would come back here again and again to keep trying all of the different options.

So good! I devoured my almond pastry in 5 min. My daughter ate all of hers as well. So flaky and not too sweet. This is much better than the other dessert places we tried, including Kaminsky dessert bar and another coffee/dessert bar. The other stuff is just too sweet and lacking real ingredients. The owner here was pleasant. I hope to go earlier tomorrow to have more to pick from.

Not the friendliest service. The sign says 2 people allowed in at a time.

The staff is rude and sharp. Vibe inside is nice.

Nice owners and a hidden gem.

Occasionally the stars align and you find a gem that reminds you how food is supposed to taste. This is that place. I’ve never eaten a quiche this good and will likely not again.

Lovely couple that own the place. The Almondine was INCREDIBLE. Tucked away on Church St it's a welcome reprieve from the sun.
