Absolutely loved this place! Everything we had was so good. The flavors in every dish all complimented each other. We had the local oysters (raw ofc!), hush puppies, crab tostada, fried chicken (top five fried chicken I’ve ever had!) and the iceberg wedge. Oh and the scalped potatoes were to die for. Great drink choices and reasonable prices. A must of in CHS!

Coordinated with the Leon’s team ahead of a visit to Charleston - they were accommodating for our large group of 8 friends. Our patio table worked out great as it was a beautiful sunny 70 degree day. Delicious bloody Mary’s & recommend the hush puppies. Was slightly let down by the amount of fried chicken on my iceberg lettuce salad - would have gone with the friend chicken sandwich next time. Recommend for a great brunch!

Really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwiches here. Its worth spending the $5 adder for the scalloped potatoes to replace the standard sides. They are really special. Not sure why the beer glasses are so small, but they did have a decent assortment of drafts.

Definitely one of the coolest spots off the beaten path in Charleston. Hands down they have the best char grilled oysters we’ve tried. Both the grilled and the fried chicken sandwich are delicious. I had the Siam salad which was so yummy and crunchy served with a half of fresh sliced avocado on top. The fried seafood platter was a hit at our table with a large side of roasted Brussel sprouts that were shared and loved by everyone. The atmosphere was unique and old school inside as it was originally an old body shop. The garage door led outside to more seating where we sat with our dog (he was very welcome and given a bowl of water)

Leon’s in Charleston has become one of those places that’s officially on our list every single time we’re in town, whether we’re doing lunch or dinner. My wife and I have been three times now, and it’s been a home run every visit. Honestly, if it weren’t for having to deal with I-26 to get there, we’d be eating here way more often. That freeway is terrible, but Leon’s is worth it.

The menu is small, and that’s exactly what makes it great. They’re not trying to do everything. They’re doing a handful of things really well, and you can tell they’ve dialed it in. My wife always gets the peel and eat shrimp, and it’s perfect every time. Simple, flavorful, and exactly what you want it to be.

For me, it’s the fried chicken sandwich. I don’t say this lightly, it’s the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Crispy, juicy, and just the right balance where every bite works. And do yourself a favor and get the scalloped potatoes they have, they’re ridiculous in the best way. Rich, comforting, and the kind of side you end up talking about after you leave.

The vibe is also a big part of why we keep going back. It’s casual, lively, and feels like a true Charleston staple without being pretentious. Leon’s is one of those rare spots that lives up to the hype and stays consistent. If you’re visiting Charleston, this is a must.

Great spot. Afternoon sunshine in the front seating area. Great inside and bar area. Food was fantastic (they do not have a huge menu and when I asked about bacon or bbq sauce they said they have it). Menu is a little light and the mixed drink menu could have more. Doesn’t remove the 5 star rating. My kids got milkshakes and loved them. I tried them and it was really good.

As a southerner, who grew up eating fried chicken at least once a week, this is the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. It was seasoned perfectly and came out of the kitchen piping hot. The charbroiled oysters were also delicious. Staff was pleasant. Enjoyable atmosphere. Looking forward to a return visit.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and, while there was a wait, we were seated at the bar within about 10 minutes. Service was excellent from start to finish. We both ordered the fried chicken and shared the hush puppies, scalloped potatoes, and black-eyed pea salad. The fried chicken was some of the best we’ve ever had, and the scalloped potatoes were hands down the best we’ve had anywhere. The black-eyed pea salad was also very good. Highly recommend stopping in for lunch.

Saw reviews about Leon's online and decided to give them a try. Early afternoon atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. Lots of staff available and Tyker our server was friendly and very responsive. The chargrilled oyster appetizer was very flavorful and enjoyed by all. The fried seafood platter with scallops, shrimp and catfish was outstanding. The scalloped potatoes were to die for! We weren't fans of the hush puppies but the honey butter helped with the flavor appeal. Recommended when in Charleston.
