We are visiting from Wisconsin on our honeymoon and randomly started craving ice cream while walking around. We saw the soft serve sign at Leon’s and decided to stop in, and we are so glad we did. We got the grasshopper and it was amazing. The mint flavor was perfect and it was exactly what we were looking for. Such a great surprise treat and totally worth the stop. We wish we had the stomachs to eat here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOKED SO YUMMY!

I don't usually order fried chicken out... but when in Rome. I was not disappointed! We split chargrilled oysters, fried chicken sandwich and cucumber salad. That combined with the cool breeze on the covered patio, a perfect meal!

On vacation, never been to Charleston, and what an amazing trip. Leon's was recommended by a friend, and so glad for that! It's an old gas station I believe which was transformed into an incredible restaurant! Rustic ambiance, soft blues music in the background. From the variety of oysters to the peel n eat shrimp to the fried chicken, everything was amazing. The entire menu was terrific I wish I could gave tried it all. Look this place up and GO! Parking was a bit tough finding, and it seems to be in a regentifying neighborhood. All for the better.

Leon's is literally in my dreams! My boyfriend and I went there for the first time three years ago. It blew our minds! Affordable, delicious food, and such a fun atmosphere. We returned a couple of times on the same trip. We live in NJ... and set up a trip last year JUST to go to Leons. I am actually scared to post a review because I selfishly want to keep it a secret for my boyfriend and I. Man, if you like chicken and oysters... you cannot go wrong. Damn, now I need to set up another trip. :)

We loved the food and the atmosphere. Next time we'll leave the dog at home so we can sit outside. We loved it outside but it was really fun inside!

First of all parking is nonexistent at this restaurant you’re gonna walk for several blocks
The chicken while decent was not worth the $300 bill that came with a five person tab
The oysters were good here, but in all honesty, I was not impressed not trying to pick on the restaurant. I know it’s got good reviews, but I’ve had better fried chicken at a lot of different places and while I’m not recommending Kentucky Fried chicken or two piece chicken at Kentucky Fried chicken is under $10 here you’re looking at 50.

Great food. The fried chicken is amazing and highly recommend. Oysters were great and good size and fairly priced. The potato thing they have is to die for. Fish sandwich and cucumber salad were amazing also.

Food was amazing! Fried chicken was cooked
To perfection, crispy outside, moist inside. Scallop potatoes were cheesy & creamy. The house oysters were yummy & plump. Fish sandwich was cooked perfect. Cucumber salad was okay- personal preference, just too vinegary for me.
Service was great & got seated right away

Everyone touts this as the best place for southern fried chicken, and some people may enjoy it. But personally I found the chicken to be too spicy. I am not sure what they cooked it in to create the spicy heat, but it was not what I expected nor enjoyed.

Everything was impeccable - food, vibe & service. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful bartender who was friendly and helpful, attentive yet chill. The food was spectacular - expertly prepared and beautifully presented. I had the shrimp roll with the chilled shrimp salad and can’t stop thinking about it. The textures and flavors were outstanding. I can definitely see why Leon’s was packed with a wait for lunch on a Friday at 12:30. A must-experience food destination in Charleston

Don't waste your time, the food wasn't good. The hush puppies were stale, the chicken was overcooked, dry and lacked seasoning. My friend had the chargrilled oysters and she said they lacked seasoning as well. Do yourself a favor and skip Leon's.

Great atmosphere. We usually like to eat outside, but the inside was so inviting we ate inside. Started with the chargrilled oysters..fantastic!! The whole fish branzino was so good...enough for 2 people. The scalloped potatoes was huge and so good. The fried oyster roll was delicious and also big. We do not live in town, but will be back!

One of the best fried chicken we’ve ever had hands down - so good, I had to order it twice! We also got the char-grilled oysters, raw oysters, and Leon’s fish fry - they were all delicious! We highly recommend Leon’s if you like fried chicken!
