Went down for a family vacation and had to stop in since it was almost exactly 20 years since I last ate here. Still as good as I remembered it being. I always get the teriyaki chicken bowl and always enjoy every bite of it.

Just a small place, a hidden gem, but a nice surprise with the food! Fresh and delicious! My grandson who attends The Citadel took us there. He had been before and she treats him to a free drink because he is in uniform. "Mama" Kim taking good care of our young people and feeding them well at a reasonable price! Thank you Mama Kim, we'll definitely come back next visit to Charleston!

Service is terrible and workers are rude! I waited for over 40 minutes after calling in for a simple steak and rice. Apparently the food was ready but no one bothered to call my name at all even though everyone else's name was called . When I walked up to the counter again to ask about my food a girl with pink hair rudely asked what my name and order was even after telling several workers and being that I was the only one still waiting for to go. She was also very hesitant to give me the food and asked if I had already paid, which of course I did! Of all the people that walked in no one else was asked if they had previously paid but now I'm the one whos under suspicion? Funny how she only asked this to someone who has a dark skin tone. After all of that she refused to hand it to me and instead tossed it right on counter even though it was very obvious my hand was out. If you want to be treated with respect (especially if you're a minority) do not come here! That lady was extremely rude and the service was terrible for someone who ordered something so simple. What did I do to deserve this treatment??

The food was very good and the workers were really nice but the guy working the desk never asked what side i wanted for my dish. They brought one small side and I went up to ask for hibachi vegetables before mine and my other friends came out and he said no. We went up again after they never came out and he said we all had a shared portion when we all paid $30 for dishes with sides of vegetables. We heard a lady in the kitchen say bring out two more so i'm not sure why he was so rude when we paid for the food and said no when i asked. I've been here before so i know that we were missing 1/3 of our dishes, he was not nice at all. :(
I have been going to Mama Kims for years and very rarely have had a bad experience. Last night I ordered delivery to my place of employment. Half of my order was missing, and my meat was burnt. I contacted the delivery service, and a very small amount was credited to my account. I called the restaurant and started to let them know what happened and was hung up on. I called back numerous times, and there was no answer. I did leave a message after their recording with my information. I never received a call back. In my recent visits to the restaurant, it just seems as if the customer service has been lacking. I know so many people that go there and work right in the vicinity. I'm hearing the same. Such a shame.
