I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Mario’s but there are a few things that made me not want to go full five stars. It is a small restaurant on King Street that gives you authentic Italian vibes especially from the slow service of the wait staff. It took me right back to waiting on a server in Italy. The bread that is brought to the table almost felt like frozen rolls. The bruschetta had too much balsamic glaze, though it was good. I got the Gnocchi Gorgonzola. It was delicious....

We stumbled across Mario’s on our first night in Charleston- we had just gotten in, was hungry after a flight and looking for something good but quick before we went back to the hotel. The food was OUTSTANDING! We sat at the bar and had the most wonderful dinner. The staff was amazing and everything we tried was homemade and delicious. Charleston is apparently known for its food scene and, generally, I wasn’t that impressed, but the one place we kept thinking about and wanting...

ordered the carbonara and it was incredible, very hot and delicious. the bruschetta was amazing too! it was my first time having both of these things, and i’m so glad i got to have such an amazing first experience :)
