Great experience. Will definitely be coming back.
Amazing conservation of history here. Very friendly staff, and the map had a good way to get a self guided tour, while hitting all of the best things to see.
To tell you the truth it was so pretty and chill.i forgot to take pictures this time.the garden is so relaxing the landscape feels cared for and preserved.its a must see if you are in the area .I will make a part 2 with pictures😆
Very educational place
A beautiful plantation that honors the land and the people who built it. We had lunch on the property with a beautiful view, and then did both the garden tour and enslaved people’s tour. It was very impactful.
Probably the best plantation experience in Charleston. House tour is well worth it and the gardens a must see ... they are so expansive. With animals and an excellent restaurant. A must see. DEFINITELY dine at their restauranr; one of the best meals we had in the area.
Very nice Southern plantation. This one is in a group of three but the locals said this was their favorite.
This IS NOT the place for anyone with mobility issues. They shrug when they tell you there is a quarter mile walk on uneven gravel paths to reach the house. AFTER you have bought tickets. Go to Boone. They accommodate those with mobility issues with a smile
Beautiful walking paths, wildlife, so much interesting history!
We were in town from Michigan to attend a Sunday wedding. The wind was very strong and the temperature really dropped. The wedding was held outside by the large trees. It was very scenic but quite a walk from the parking lot to spot wearing high heels. The parlor where the reception was held was a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests. There were no cocktail tables to place snacks and cocktails prior to the reception starting. The food was great and the bartenders were very attentive. It was a romantic spot for a wedding but from a logistics perspective, very challenging to get transportation to and from our hotel. Guests had to take the shuttle to and from the venue. The reception ended by 10:30 PM to account for the return shuttles to the hotel. Family and friends made it a wonderful event.

Wow! The grounds are beautiful, the staff are very welcoming, and the tour(s) are eye opening.
I thought I had a good understanding of our history when we walked through the gates, but walked out of here much smarter, and more curious to learn more. The Beyond the Fields tour was worth the price of admissions alone. I highly recommend it to all visitors. Linda was our guide, and wow, we hung on her every word.
The grounds are stunning, and well maintained. Try to hit every number on the map. The 1,000 year old Oak tree was off the beaten path, but to spend 10 minutes under its magnetic canopy will make you think about all of the people who say there before you.
We visited a few other similar venues that day, but this one was the best, and had the best mission. The other privately owned venue had a Disneyland feel to it, and the one before that was owned by the government so it lacked a certain depth.
Beautiful property
I could have spent days here instead of just a few hours. The vast grounds offer dazzling landscapes. There are tours and stories about the generations of families who lived here, both the enslaved and the plantation owners. It is a trip back in time.
I’m really glad I had the opportunity to visit this plantation. Its story is at the heart of America’s colonial beginnings. Several tours are included with the price of admission and I appreciated their Garden Tour as well as their Beyond Slavery Tour. Whether your walking the grounds, coming for lunch, or learning it’s deep history, one could easily spend the day here.
Amazing scenery, educated staff and beautiful grounds and history!
