South Carolina’s first brewery to open after Prohibition! Palmetto has a wide selection of house brewed beers on tap, plus wine, cider, hard seltzer, and n/a beverages, including thc/cbd drinks. They host trivia, live music, local workshops, private events, local vendor markets, and more. A great spot with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Don’t want to miss this spot! 🍻
Love love love! Staff are amazing, great spot and love the live music!!!
We are locals and absolutely love this brewery! Great beers, beautiful outdoor space, and love that they are also dog friendly! We recently rented out their front room for a private wedding welcome party on 10/11/24 and had an absolute blast! Lauren, Leslie, and their team were super accommodating and easy to work with! They were very quick to respond to our emails and answer all of our questions. They handled our group of 100+ people easily and professionally. Everything was very nice and well organized. Plenty of parking and seating inside the main room. Would highly recommend checking out this brewery in general, but also for your future private events! Thanks guys for a great night!!
While I appreciate Palmetto Brewing Company's need to manage their parking situation, I was disappointed to have my car towed at 6:30 am on a Thursday morning. The brewery doesn't open until 4:00 pm on Thursdays, and my vehicle posed no inconvenience to their operations or patrons at that early hour.
I understand the presence of towing signs and take responsibility for not relocating my car sooner. However, parking in this area is notoriously difficult, and I was utilizing the nearby gym before most businesses, including Palmetto Brewing, were open.
This experience put a damper on my morning and created a significant inconvenience. I would urge Palmetto Brewing to reconsider their towing policy during non-business hours, especially when their operations are not impacted. A more flexible approach would show greater consideration for the needs of the local community.
I've been informed that my previous review was based on a misunderstanding. While the brewery's taproom opens at 4 PM, their brewers need access to the parking lot earlier in the day. I apologize for any inconvenience my parking may have caused.
However, I still believe that four parking spots for a brewery of this size is insufficient, especially if you intend to grow and attract more customers (and I have been to your brewery and purchase your beers in local grocery stores). I hope the brewery will consider expanding its parking options in the future to avoid similar situations and ensure a positive experience for both employees and visitors.
Good vibes, good beer
Nice spot, kinda pricey drinks, but it was a good spot!
Phillip Jolly 10/10 bartender, APP enthusiast, beer expert. Incredible vibes.
The OG brewery of the Lowcountry. While there has been changes over the many years One thing has remained the same and that is the great well-rounded menu of beers and the quality. Do yourself a favor and grab a pint and catch some live music on the weekends here. And Leslie, Becky and Philip are the best ??
Love this place. Love the beer. Love the staff, would love for you to come here. Bring your dog.
Palmetto is the place for good music, great beers and even better times. Best brewery in the city especially with Nikki and Becky behind the bar

Cute brewery - we went on a Sunday afternoon and the side brewery was open. My partner and I both had two drinks each - I had a sour and a cider. Both were great. We spent a few hours here having drinks, playing card games, and singing along to the music. Great space.
I’d give it 0 if I could. Sat at the bar 10 minutes and was completely ignored as the bartender chatted with people and ignored my party. Definitely don’t waste your time here.
Great beer and dog friendly
Great salted lime lager!
I’m changing my review. We have visited this location every year when vacationing. The website’s hours say open till 7:00pm. Walking into the brewery, there were at least 7 people drinking outside and 3 inside. When we walked up to the bar, we weren’t greeted with a “hey y’all,” but instead, a “sorry we are closed.” Even after we told the bartender the website says 7pm, she answered with, “sorry we just changed our hours this week.” Would have been nice to honor the hours posted and let us have one beer. Guess we will have to find a new brewery to kick off our yearly Charleston visit.
