We heard so much about pelato and it definitely lived up to our expectations. The food all came out fresh to order and we appreciated the time we had in between each meal. All of the food was delicious and we split six plates for three people. The stand outs were the pelato salad, the meatballs (my personal favorite), and the vodka pasta. As someone who isn’t the biggest pasta lover, the vodka pasta was extremely tasty and rich. It’s a perfect dish to complement the other lighter items and for sharing. I also loveddd the shape of the pasta! Our waitress was DaJané who was very kind and helpful. Super nice ambiance as well and the restaurant itself was beautiful and spacious.

We tried a little bit of everything - what fun!! Recommended doing a “flight” of pastas because they are all so good - and would be an exciting way to try them all 😍😍😍

One of the best meals we’ve had in Charleston! We got the mozzarella, chicken parm, radiatore vodka, rigatoni, garlic bread, meatballs (possibly the best I’ve had?), clams and the ice cream sandwiches! Wish there were more clams and mozz for that price. The mozz was also a little rubbery. Also the margarita was really great-not too sweet and was tart! Would go back but they are charging full entree prices for “tapas” which is frustrating.

Food is AMAZING. It’s so nice to go to a restaurant and be able to try SO MANY things. We must have ordered 8 different dishes and the portions were perfect to share. Will was our server and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He offered up pairings of the food with different sauces and every one was a home run. If you want honest recommendations and great service ask for Will!

This was our first visit to Pelato’s. We were celebrating a birthday. Food was great. Service was attentive and quick. Our group of 6 adults had a variety of dishes and enjoyed them all. The garlic bread with the melted Parmesan was amazing. Our bill, with 20% gratuity included, was $390. My only pause of giving 5 stars was the handling of the bill. We were a group of my husband and myself (couple 1), my parents (couple 2), my brother and my brother in law. In a perfect world, we would have split the bill into 4 separate checks. Our server stated the restaurants policy was to only split the bills 4 ways EQUALLY, not separately. Which, as you could imagine, would not be equal to those who ordered more, or to some who ordered bar drinks to those who didn’t. As a result, we paid with 1 payment form and the other members of our party paid their estimated portion to the person who paid. Pulling out the calculator, estimating what each party owed to the other….made it just….awkward. Clearly the bill, and their splitting of checks policy, benefits the business, and not the patron. For that reason alone, I would only ever go back as a single couple and never as a group.
