Went for our 25th Anniversary. Service was great as usual. We will be back again. One of Charleston's Best For Sure!
Our server Oscar, was very attentive and most knowledgeable about wine and food preparation. Dinner and experience were excellent.
If you have any allergies, there is nothing on the menu you can eat. Everything has garlic in it! We paid for our wine and left. Waitress tried really hard to help and asked the chef about several dishes, but to no avail. Very poor menu. Not even a common salad!
My daughter and I had a stellar experience dining at the Peninsula Grill. The food was exceptional and our server Michelle was so warm, welcoming, gracious and attentive. We felt well cared for as we celebrated a special birthday! Thank you for such a great evening, we look forward to visiting again!
We had our anniversary dinner there last night. We sat in a booth in the bar and loved the ambience of the cozy bar. Service was terrific. Good and wine list outstanding. It was nice to be there again.
It was our 59th anniversary dinner and we drove from Hilton Head Is because of reputation. The entree of his trout en Papillote was novel and very good. The beet salad was unusual and probably would satisfy very few. He advised us to share the appetizer and never would have been enough for 2. The evening collapsed however because the server FORGOT to tell us that our son and daughter-in-law provided a greeting and a gift. Such a gift would have more than anything given positive vibes that we never got from the Server who seemed more attentive to those around us.
The Peninsula Grill is a Charleston Institution and our most recent visit reminded us why. From the beautiful dining room to the gracious and attentive service to the delicious food, they continue to set the standard for elevated dining in our fair city. We started with some bubbly, then shared the seafood tower which was the perfect size and combination for two. For dinner we had the lamb and the short ribs with the brussels sprouts and the "opulent spud" which was a fun experiment in decadence! All of the dishes were delicious and perfectly sized for sharing. For dessert we naturally had to split the coconut cake, which is world-renowned. Through it all, our server Ben was an excellent guide. The perfect location for a celebration or an "elevated" evening!
We had an outstanding anniversary dinner at Peninsula Grill! From Cory's warm welcome and excellent care at the bar to Susie's attentive service at our table, everything about the evening was exceptional and made our celebration feel truly special. It had been a while since our last visit, and we'd almost forgotten just how extraordinary the food is here. The tilefish was bursting with flavor, my filet mignon was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of taste—and the sides were as wonderful as ever. And the desserts? Easily the best in town. Peninsula Grill has long been our go-to spot in the winter, but after this visit, we'll be coming back much more often.
We have a wonderful experience, the service was excelente and the food delicious. Thank you for make our dinner special.
Best steak ever. I had the center cut filet and my husband had the ribeye. Both were delicious. The warm smashed potato salad was so good and would definitely recommend. And for dessert, we had the famous coconut cake and it was better than I imagined. Can't wait to come eat here again!

I have several food restrictions, which makes me an unpopular customer at so many restaurants.... not at Peninsula Grill! I am pleasantly welcomed and they try their best to serve me a tasty meal. That means the world to me! My meal was very pleasing, and my daughter and husband were so happy with their choices of salad , mussels and the fish special . They split their selections and this was done happily. The special of half priced bottles of wine was a great surprise on a Wednesday night! Don't miss out on a great dining experience!
Great service food and don't miss the coconut cake! Maria was a great server. Apps super also
The food and service were both excellent. We have eaten in the bar before and usually prefer it, the booths are intimate and the space is cozy. However, no dress code is enforced and the bar was mostly full of men wearing t-shirts, shorts, and baseball caps. I know it's a tourist town, but for that kind of money I will go somewhere else in the future.
Still one of the standards for fine dining in Charleston. The oyster special was the highlight of this visit. The Waygu was perfect and exactly as I was hoping. Only niggle was that the dining room was a bit cold when we arrived.
A wonderful experiance. The food was delicious, well prepared and well presented. The service was also very good. Suzie took very good care of us. We were celibrating my wife's birthday and she was recognized when we checked in, and when when we receive our desert. We will always make a reservation at Peninsula Grill when we come to Charleston.
