First time diner, and was extremely impressed! I loved the vibe of this shop as soon as we walked in. The menu is unique, and packed with flavor! Had the porcini rubbed prime rib with mushroom conserva and it was heavenly. We also ordered sides of the rotisserie drippings roasted potatoes which tasted like they were right out of your grandmas best pot of stew, and the cremini mushrooms that were delicious! So happy we found this spot!

The porchetta sandwich is special. If feeling ambitious, get your own, but definitely large enough to share with two people.

Was up in Charleston for the day and found this quaint little sandwich shop and will definitely go back if I'm in the city. This is a small little shop, standing room only and its design is efficient and allows for enjoying the quality of their foods. The staff is attentive and want to ensure you get a quality product and they know their stuff when it comes to the food. I got their Porchetta #1, with the salsa verde. This was a large sandwich on focaccia bread. The flavors were absolutely stunning. They also have beer and wines available for you as well. I would say if you're in the neck of the woods of President St you need to stop in and grab a sandwich.

This place definitely has potential. Came here for the first time this week. I got the Mozzarella di Bufala with Prosciutto and my husband got the Prosciutto Italiano. Both were good but after getting them to go (since there is no indoor seating) and waiting to eat them for 10-15 mins, the sandwiches got really soggy. The buffalo mozzarella was extremely wet and made both sandwiches soggy. They had good flavor though and the focaccia was great. The roasted potatoes we got as a side were my favorite. It was expensive though. For two sandwiches and a side of potatoes (no drinks) it was $57…..It was a bit confusing coming in the first time and not knowing where to order. A simple sign at the end of the counter that says “order here” would keep the staff from having to repeat the directions a hundred times a day. The staff were very friendly though but service was extremely slow. We waited about 15 minutes for our three items. Also, parking is a big issue. Unless you are walking over from the medical district or somewhere nearby, it’s going to be extremely difficult to find on street parking so plan ahead for that. I’m willing to try here again and try something different. Definitely has potential though.

I feel like every year this changes for me, however THIS place is the best sandwich shop in town, hands down. Nestled in a very small and intimate shop where if you're eating in you're rubbing elbows with people at a standing room only high top, this place had even a socially anxious person like myself not mind sharing a counter top with strangers. I still had shame over taking pictures in a public place, but that wore off once I bit into the first of my two sandwiches. My favorite of the two was the Porcini-rubbed prime rib (#2) with horseradish crema and cippolini onions. I would slap most of you for another one of these. Tender, nice kick brought by the horseradish - wonderful. I got in before the rush, and since it's such a tiny space with such a deserved hype behind it, you're most likely gonna have a short wait for your order, but trust me it's worth it.

Yum yum sandwich!! I got the Porchetta #1. I rushed in 10 minutes before closing and asked if they were still taking orders to which they very cheerfully responded yes! I was so excited! The sandwich did not disappoint. My only complaints are the price (it's high, but it's also downtown Charleston so...) and the bread was a little too crunchy for a sandwich by my taste. It may also have been that it was the end of the day for the bread but who knows. Either way. It was delicious and I'll definitely be going back. Fun side note: they have a small collection of unique Italian foods in the store! My roommate, who has lived part of her life in Italy, was recently telling me about a certain food she missed, which they had here! So cool.

Ruined any progress I was making on my diet by ordering 3 sandwiches and sides from Porchetta shop. An earlier review called the assembly area a “gentrified subway” - which is pretty funny but it gave me more of a chefs counter experience.Living in Southeast Asia and in more modest areas of southern Europe developed my love for street food stalls and mom/pop operations. Porchetta gives me that local character, often lost in trendy eateries and concept spaces. The effort and thought put into the flavors warrant the price in my opinion.Staff, friendly and helpful. Vibes - immaculate. Coffee - strong. Food delicious. The porchetta number 2 will be on my rotation. Looking forward to trying more items.I would personally like to see different types of focaccia to switch up the sandwiches but that’s for down the line :)

This is a new place since our visit last year and I promise you HAVE to go. The personnel are all so friendly and the food is stupid delicious. For dinner, we chose the rotisserie chicken, rotisserie potato slices and spicy broccoli rabe. The rotisserie chicken flavor was absolutely amazing and the chicken was tender and moist. The potato wedges were full of HUGE flavor. The broccoli rabe was a little too vinegary for our tastes. The next morning, we ordered their humungous breakfast bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and they were amazing. Cannot wait to try their lunch/dinner sandwiches before we leave.

Really amazing sandwiches with high quality bread and Italian cuts of meat. Only reason I am giving it a 4 is because my prime rib was fattier than I hoped it would be. I realize prime rib is a fattier cut of beef in nature but it would have been 5 out of 5 if even just a bit of the fat had been trimmed. Overall I will be back and want to try more items from the menu. The coffee was also excellent.

Visited Da Toscano on a Monday during lunch. The place was packed into the small waiting area. There is no formal seating as such, more of some bars where you can hang out and eat , but it is not a sit down experience by any means. After ordering at the counter, we had to wait for our names to be called to get our sandwiches. I ordered one of the specialty ones and although I was impressed by the quality and taste of the focaccia bread, it was just too much bread and little fillings. I ended up removing the bottom halves of the bread and combining them into one sandwich to make it feel less dry and breaddy. Flavor was delicious and the portion was filling, but compared to other places downtown, the bread to meat /filling ratio can definitely be improved, .

We were so looking forward to this. Such a great concept. A swing and a miss for us, I’m afraid.

Pretty good sandwich and cool restaurant, but be aware that the Proscuitto Italiano does not contain any proscuitto. Wait times are long so call ahead
