My wife and I are both cat lovers (currently 2) and came across this shelter/wine bar while visiting last week. The folks (human) were very friendly although the residents are quite skittish. There is a cover to get in but all the funds go to maintaining the facility and keeping the residents happy. If you're up om Meeting St. Do stop in.

My husband and I had a great time at pounce. The cats are adorable, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. It’s definitely worth a visit, bonus if you adopt a cat!

Cafe is a very generous term- there were no espresso based drinks i. e. lattes, cappuccinos, cortados, etc. The kitties are sweet though and I'm glad they aren't confined to a little shelter kennel!
What a great idea!! Hanging out with adorable (and adoptable) cats while having some drinks.
There were at 15 cats in the room with us, each with their own personalities. Sophia and Emily were wonderful hosts and kept us entertained and educated about each of our furry feline friends.
You can book for either 30 minutes or an hour, we did an hour. Phoebe(pictured) came
Right up to me and sat in my lap while I enjoyed a few Meowmosas. Such a great time!
All cats are adoptable and this is a great opportunity to hang out with cats, learn about each and every one, and then fall in love and take one home ?

Just keeping a place with this many cats clean and not smelling catty is a lot of work, and the staff rises to the task. When you enter and leave, close the door behind you quickly so no cats leak out. It would be nice if the cats were in the back and the bar in the front, but the way the building came precludes that, and it's nice for passers-by to see the cats. Beware: the cats don't have individual review pages. Some are sweet, some are more aggressive.

Pounce cafe was delightful. If you’re looking for a relaxing little break in your day exploring charleston, or if you’re looking for a cat to adopt, check out Pounce Cafe. Every person in there was just happy and relaxed and smiling the entire time. If you’re looking to adopt, this is a great option. Even in just an hour you can really get to know the temperament and personality of some of the cats. Some are more snuggly, others more playful, and of course there are some that are a bit more spicy. They partner with local shelters, and the people there are amazing to talk to about each cat, and how long they’ve been there and what they’re like.
We actually ended up going in twice during our stay in Charleston, and the second time decided to go with the ‘Cat Whisperer’ package. If you really want to make sure you get a few cats interacting with you, or in your lap, then they give you a little bit of treats and catnip. It’s still a great time without it, and there are toys and things all around to play with for everyone to use. Be careful though, it’s gonna be hard to leave without wanting to bring one home with you.

We can't rate food because we don't know if they have food.

We visited the Cat Café recently and had an amazing experience! What a great concept for those interested in adopting animals. Our experience was made especially great by Emily, who was personable, professional, and super informative about the adoption process! Will definitely be recommending this place to anyone interested in adopting a cat.

Cats were very hostile and aggressive. I understand that the cats cycle through and personalities can be unpredictable. We could pet 2 sleeping cats. The others hissed, scratched and attempted to bite us.
There were and 9 people in the cafe - after
10 minutes, many had given up on playing with the cats and ultimately left early.

Went here with my girlfriend about half a year ago, but it was such a memorable experience, and I plan on coming back soon! I love the concept of just being able to chill for an hour and see some silly little fellas. The coffee was good too, from what I remember. As a former barista at Starbucks, I'm pleased with the syrup selections :D

Ashley js a sweetheart met her casually at a venue and she introduced me to this place . Little did I know she was the owner! I’ve been really happy finding this little slice of heaven and enjoying meeting new people and most importantly the sweet little kittens! See below !

I had a wonderful experience at Pounce Cat Cafe! The cats were absolutely adorable - very sweet and gentle. They seemed quite content and relaxed, napping peacefully throughout the visit. I especially enjoyed getting to know Callie, who was eager to accept treats from me, highly recommend giving her some treats haha.
The cafe itself had a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Pounce Cat Cafe. The opportunity to interact with the friendly felines in a calm, comfortable setting was truly delightful. I would advise making a reservation, as the cafe can get quite busy, especially on weekends.
