Dropped by for a frozen Irish coffee which was fantastic. Bartender (Ray) and one of the regulars there ended up being great company and were filled with local recommendations and good banter.

One of the quieter bars on the block. Which I liked. No food but full focus on mixed drinks & booze. Their speciality is shots. With a ficus on well crafted well or bottom shelf liquor. The bartender was great. Id like higher quality booze for a 17$ drink.

One of the bar tenders was insanely rude and had gotten multiple complains from others in the bar. I really enjoyed this bar up until last night and now I understand why the bar is almost always empty. Up until last night my experience was pleasant and a few of the workers were really nice but this one guy ruined this bar for me.

I got kicked out of the bar simply because he did not understand my order and I was called complicated by the bartender. I am a former bartender myself, so I know how bartending goes and I typically respect bartenders because I understand the stress of tending to everyone especially when you are busy, however, I was treated so poorly because the bartender did not understand my order, and in turn I was kicked out for being “condescending”. Never have I ever been condescending to a bartender in my life, but I was kicked out for going to the bathroom with my friend and for the bartender not understanding my order. It was so awful that I had to leave the bar to cry because I have never been treated so poorly in my life. For reference, it was the skinny guy and lonely guy (with a beard) that clearly was in a bad mood.

Just paid $35 for two shitty old fashioned’s in plastic cups. Never going to Proof again. If you’re going to charge that much the least you can do is serve it in a glass.

I’ve been coming to this place for years and loved the vibe, extensive speciality cocktail options, attentive service, and people watching. I recently visited to find out they are now a shot bar and lost all the good qualities it once had. Disappointed to say the least, luckily Charleston has many other cocktail bars more worth your time and money.

This was a great spot to stop and grab a beer and one their many shots off of their 100 shots list. The service was fast and the bartenders were very friendly. This is a great change of pace from going to the typical dark cocktails bars downtown. Worth a stop before or after a dinner downtown.
