This is a yop notch place. Victor was amazing. He helped us pick out a wine we loved and complimented our dinner. The she crab soup is amazing. The lowcountry pirlou is phenomenal. My next trip back here will be for the exact same thing....including having Vic as our server.

I have been to Revival many times for my ‘Taste of History’ tour through my tour company, Experience Moore Tours. Revival is exactly as the name describes, taking the classic dishes and giving them new life. SARA has been my server many times, and she always brings a warm energy to the experience. She is very knowledgeable of the food and has a perfect balance of helpfulness and professionalism.

Came here for the Xmas 3 course dinner. Had reservations but had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Once seated found that 2 of the 3 items on the menu were out. We did not attend late but had 6pm seating. Everyone complained about how they can be out of two items on a 3 course menu! As a Chef I would fire the Head Chef as he alone is suppose to be responsible for the kitchen! If it was managements fault then they should be fired. The food I did have was mediocre at best. Based on this visit I would not come back!!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a very nice dinner at Revival - Charleston. We ordered the filet and the pistachio halibut and both dishes were delicious and served piping hot. Our server was personable and attentive. He even asked if the temperature in the area in which we were seated was comfortable! Though there was a slight mix-up with one of our meals, the manager went above and beyond to compensate us - far more than what we had ever imagined or expected. Thank you! We will definitely plan to dine at Revival again, at some point, when we're back in the area:)

UPDATE 1/8/2026: Shortly after my original post, Revival management reached out directly to convey their apologies and offer to try to 'make things right'. That warrants a lot of respect, and aligns with the high-class experience we expected based on the recommendations of friends. After speaking directly, I'm confident to consider our experience an aberration - possibly due to Christmas evening or simply an unfortunate turn of events. Moreover, on our next visit to Charleston we will make a point to re-visit as their track record and sincerity of outreach warrants a second chance. PS I've never before edited any of my several reviews but Revival's outreach and moreover their sincerity warranted an exception.
ORIGINAL 12/27/25: Revival needs an actual revival. Reflecting back on the evening, it's clear something was significantly was off - way off - based in part on their historically high ratings. From serious misfires on the menu to haphazard pacing of the service eg meal service arriving 7-10 minutes apart such that 2 of us would eat then the rest of the party would get their items, and meal wine pairings arriving well after their paired food had arrived. Now for the food issues. We had reserved Christmas dinner for our family of 4 adults. Shortly after beeing seated ~7p our server informed us that 2 items on the evenings' limited menu - 4 apps, 4 entrees - were no longer available: scallops app and sole entree (the only fish entree). A crab cake was offered as app alternative but no further option for the entrees. Not a deal breaker yet a bit early in the evening to be running out. Accordingly, we decided to place our meal order with our initial drinks order. My and my daughter's foie gras app was fine, nothing near special; at tops a 6/10. My lamb entree was perfectly prepared and delicious. My son's prime rib entree was sad and gray and so far beyond his ordered - and chef's recommended - medium rare. So much so it was surprising a kitchen of their repute would plate it let alone serve it. I signaled to one of the more senior staff who came by and fully agreed with our assessment and apologized. She returned with the unsurprising news that the prime rib was also nearly out with only another medium/medium well piece remaining. Thankfully she was able to arrange for filet mignon as a replacement and it arrived properly prepared. Wrapping up the evening, my molten lava cake while tasty had clearly been sitting around backstage for a while as it's whipped cream topping had fully soaked into the cake - which was not longer anywhere hot. And a full 10 minutes later the paired port wine appeared. They need to learn and do better, especially when the menu is already limited. I'd be concerned what a busy evening with a full menu might render in terms of experience and quality. Sadly I must remove Revival from my recommended list - until they revive their standards.

My husband took me to Revival on 12/26 for my birthday. We arrived for our reservation and were greeted promptly by the friendly staff. Steven, our Server, introduced himself, was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered suggestions. He brought our cocktails quickly and our first course of foie gras was fabulous! My husband's lobster bisque was excellent as were my escargots. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his lowcountry perlou and my flounder special was delicious. the key lime tart for dessert was fabulous and we ended the evening with a glass of port and bourbon. Highly recommend Revival and the exceptional service provided by Steven. We appreciated the general manager stopping by our table as well. Delightful evening! Will certainly plan to return and have recommended to friends!

Despite having an advance reservation, we were required to wait approximately 30 minutes to be seated.
This was a fixed-price Christmas dinner at $95 per person. The preset menu offered only one vegetarian option, which is unacceptable at this price point. Of the three advertised dessert options, two were unavailable. Instead of the listed molten lava cake, we were informed it would be “fixed on the fly” and were served a very small, ordinary chocolate cake. Charging $95 for a preset menu while failing to provide most of the advertised options is unjustifiable. Overall, the food was mediocre in both quality and taste.
To further adding on to the poor experience, we requested that our leftovers be packed. The server failed to do so, and upon follow-up, we were informed that our food had already been discarded. At that point, the experience was entirely disappointing.
This restaurant does not meet the standards of fine dining. We will not be returning and would not recommend it to others.

One of the top 5 meals we’ve ever had. Halibut was prepared perfectly, with different purées for tasting. Wife said her steak was delicious as well. Crème brûlée was one of the best examples we’ve tasted. Art & atmosphere is different, but a welcome change. Lovely place & overall experience.
