We tried to go to dinner here. The restaurant had about 4 tables full but they said they had reservations for the rest however we could eat in the bar. We went to the bar. The bartender never came over to serve us. We finally went to the bar and asked if we had to order there. We were told yes. We asked for dinner menus and then we were told we could not eat in the bar.
Gave three stars only because the staff was great. When asked about recommendations for the entree, I regretted my decision. I understand that my taste might not be very eclectic, but I do know when something tastes good. I could not even finish my plate. If I am going to pay more, then I expect the food to be really good. Sadly, it was not. Nothing like the reviews stated. And nothing like the description on the menu. The key lime pie was great though...and the shining light in this dining experience.
One of the best She Crab soups In Charleston. It was a pleasant surprise for a last minute reservation. Enjoyable meal from beginning to end.
Horrible service. Saw our waitress maybe 3 times and it wasn’t even that busy. I had to flag down the hostess just to get a refill of water after waiting for 30 min. No servers were to be found at all. For the fine dining experience and prices I should at least be able to get a refill of my water easily. No one was there to help my table or anyone. Our neighboring table had to get up themselves just to get a salt and pepper shaker from the server stand because no one was around. The menu falsely advertised what came with my steak. Said it came with potatoes and it didn’t. I was just told they haven’t updated it and nothing was made up or replaced in it ‘s favor. The food was good but the service was so horrible it ruined the food. It would be one star if it wasn’t for the good food.
great food and service and deserves this five star rating. that’s all I have to say. Experience it for yourself.
Our best night out in Charleston. The food and service were excellent. I had the Grouper over succotash and it was perfect. He has shrimp and grits. Not your traditional method of serving them. It very good. Only comment was they could be a bit spicier. Portion size was great. A glass of wine is a very generous pour. Overall a wonderful evening.
Dined at Revival this weekend with my 3 sisters, visiting Charleston to celebrate a birthday and it was amazing. We loved the entire experience - the atmosphere, the food, especially the Low Country Pirlou. Dylan was our server and he was excellent! Revival will be my first choice on my next trip to Charleston!
Recently dined at Revival for a friends birthday and had an amazing experience at Revival. Food was great; standout was the She Crab soup which was full of lump crab meat and the seafood fried rice which was a special for the night. Tori, our server was fantastic: equal parts attentive and friendly ;she even helped us find a after dinner spot to continue the celebration! Would definitely recommend and come back again
She-Crab Soup to start for both of us -- it's a delight in Charleston to try the She-Crab soup varieties around town -- Revival did not disappoint. Entrees were Pan-Seared Grouper and Low-Country Pirlou -- both excellent! Finished off with a delightful flourless chocolate torte.
Business dinner with friend. The first impression was mixed. The decor is modern and beautiful, but there is a smell like mold that is quite prevalent. If it was a hotel room I wouldn’t stay. We stayed, and the meal was wonderful. It might be the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had! Our server Tony was sweet. Please get the source of the moldy smell fixed and I’d love to come back.
Exceptional attention to flavors and textures. It was Restaurant week so the chef's menu had a prix fixe 3 course dinner. Ample portions, attention to detail in everything. SHE CRAB SOUP richly flavored. not heavy OSSO BUCO with buttery, fluffy, creamy ANSON MILLS GRITS. Wow. PECAN BREAD PUDDING with a perfect caramel glaze. Garnished with a scoop of what looked like vanilla bean ice cream but tasted like the best ever rice pudding. Surprise! GO. What are you waiting for?
We had a wonderful experience at revival! We went for restaurant week and each did the wine pairings. Each dish was great, as was the service!
Great restaurant! It's a shame we no longer live nearby. Definitely always visit when we're in town.
This past Thursday my boyfriend and I shared a wonderful experience at Revival. We have both been living in Charleston for four plus years now but last night we were first timers at this establishment. Our bartender, James was so sweet. He had great energy and was extremely personable. He knew a lot about the menu (both cocktail and dinner) and offered great suggestions to us. 10/10 service. We already cant wait to go back!
