Not only has Rio Chico has been solidly consistent with their food, but also the staff has always been on point as well. The menu has all the best classics. Nothing is shy of well done Mexican.

New machine but I was not given a tip option, the waitress never passed me the machine to do it and did it herself. Gave herself a 22% tip during lunch hours and not that I wouldnât have done the same but that option should always be that of the customer.

Great food, but donât bother with their âpreferredâ online ordering system called Snaptown. We have now used this three times to order for pickup and once for delivery. There have been issues every time, some much worse than others. When we try to talk to the staff about this they are always unhelpful.
The most recent order we tried their preferred for delivery since Rio Chico isnât on any of the services we normally use but love the food. After almost an hour of â6 minutesâ ETA or the order tracker I finally went to the store and got my food. For the first time, the order was right - but again they refused to offer any assistance with the issues. There was no response to any messages or calls through the Snaptown interface. While I was at the restaurant a Door Dash driver showed up to pick up the order - it seems SnapTown just hands the order off to them anyway. Door Dash couldnât help me because they didnât take the payment. At the end of the night I had my food but wasted an hour and am out the delivery fees since nobody will refund it.
I wouldnât leave a bad review on the restaurant for rye failures of a 3rd party service if they didnât actively promote this as their preferred service, or if they were helpful when there are issues. But they have just been rude every time.

Attentive servers. Great food. Reasonably priced. Kid friendly. Pet friendly (outdoors). I got a Mucho Grande with three chicken burritos, rice & beans...plus, an extra order of rice & beans and you have two more meals to-go. What's better than that?

Best Mexican restaurant on James Island! Everyone is friendly, quick to take our order and bring out our food and accommodating for our 3 year old. We donât typically go anywhere else any more :)
