Wonderfully surprised and delighted with this restaurant! Every dish had an amazing depth of flavor and the perfect amount of heat.
The ambiance was really special, and it’s not too loud. The service was great as well!
We got the Pani Puri, Gunpowder Dosa, oysters and the fish curry.
If you like Indian food, I highly recommend going. We are so glad we found a spot that we will be going returning to on the regular!

Rivayat is hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Charleston. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, elevated, and thoughtfully curated. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and every recommendation was spot on.

Each dish was beautifully presented and layered with flavor. You can truly taste the care and authenticity in the ingredients and preparation. The cocktails were equally impressive and complemented the meal perfectly.

Charleston finally has good Indian food. Good South Indian food, to be specific, although they also have your more familiar dishes as well.

You’ll pay for what you get but it was worth the price when we went for a special celebration.

We got the Pani Puri, Gunpowder Dosa, and a curry made with local fish. Every single dish was ridiculous and the service was just as you’d want.

My only slight annoyance was the price of a King Fisher. $19 for a big bottle? Woof.

Fully recommend. We will be going back over and over.

Rivayat is one of my favorite spots right now! Everything is super flavorful without feeling heavy. The naan is unreal and the curries are rich but still balanced. The vibe is inviting but elevated, perfect for a date night or bringing friends who don’t know much about Indian food but leave obsessed!
It just feels thoughtful. The food, the presentation, and the service. One of those places you keep wanting to go back to!
