When my husband arrived to pick up my goodie bag on 9/6/24, he experienced the most horrible customer service treatment! He waited to be assisted for 15 mins, without so much as an acknowledgment or Hello. The red head who assisted three other customers, who arrived after he did, was very rude & racist! She finally asked my husband in a nasty tone, “What do you need?”. Then she tossed the goodie bag container on the counter & said nothing else. Mind you she treated the white customers very kindly, holding conversations with them & using pleasantries, as she greeted them. My husband left feeling disrespected & humiliated! We could not believe after he had served his country for 29 years in the US Marine Corp, he’s returned to the city where he grew up, to receive such disgusting service. I will be going to the Restuarant to speak with the manager/owner, so they will be aware of how their Restuarant is being represented!

Saffron was delicious! I will say it was very slow. I felt bad because they seemed very understaffed. I got pitta bread and hummus and the flavors were incredible.

The host and server were very outgoing and helpful when we asked for suggestions. We had a sampler dish and then kabobs that we're both amazing!! We asked for the chef to come out as my wife wanted to tell her thank you and then a photo. If we were local we would certainly visit again. Was a little slow when we visited, no music or anything so atmosphere wasn't overwhelming. But understand sometimes nothing is better that what might offend some. Overall great 1st time experience!!

Waitress said vegetables with kabob include broccoli- wrong - it was green squash! My husband excluded it from his order because he can’t eat broccoli - he would have liked squash. Also the veggie burger should come with a side like other sandwiches. Pic of rice on website showed more saffron. Prices are high for quality of food. Bathrooms needs improvement.

This was my third visit to the restaurant from a 4 hour drive. I truly enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, due the amount of people I recommended to the restaurant this last time. We were over charged without our consent. I totally understand the gratuity charge for group rate's. The problem occurred when the original receipt came back without the gratuity. We added the gratuity back in on the tip line and wrote the total amount to be charged to our credit card. Some people added more on the receipt thinking that the amount they wrote would be charged on their account. Nevertheless, they added gratuity/tip and charged more than what we were expecting. I have never seen anything like this. Is not gratuity, a tip? After talking to the restaurant they informed me of the issue. They should have informed us of the issue and not charged more than what was authorized by the customer. I was informed I had to dispute the issue with my credit card company. I have definitely filed a dispute. Be aware of this deception. I will pay cash to ensure no one can deceive me.

The food and service was very good. A group of about 36 had a great experience. However, a few days after, I noticed that my bank charge was incorrect. My initial receipt included an 18% gratuity. The receipt after my debit card was presented did not include the 18% gratuity. I added a tip (double the initial 18%), and signed. When my bank charge posted the initial 18% gratuity amount had also been added. Saffron management's response was that they know there is a problem sometimes with the billing, but I had to take up the matter with my bank. The amount is less than $10.00, but this practice of deceit is not right. As an accountant I feel this is more fraud than error. My signed receipt amount was altered. This happened to more people in our group. Please keep your receipt and make sure you check your bank charge. Yes, I am issuing a dispute with my bank.
I only went for breakfast (twice) so I'm not sure what makes this place "Persian." They had a fantastic selection of pastries! I had a croissant sandwich once & an avocado toast with smoked salmon & feta the other time. Both were great, as were their lattes. I don't know why they never seemed busy, unless it was because of the staff. The hostess was scattered/absent & constantly on her phone. Our server (same both times) I described as "endearingly terrible..." until the endearing part wore off. I did see 1 server working very hard to pull things together. So I'd say, go for the fantastic food, but make sure you're not in a hurry (& be super clear about what you want, or be prepared to eat the wrong thing/send it back.) Oh! & this is the only restaurant in which I've ever had a side of fresh fruit be sincerely fresh - firm grapes, freshly cut pineapple, strawberries, melon - nothing that seemed like it had just been sitting around.

The Saffron Restaurant & Bakery was around the corner from our hotel. A five minute walk. We went early on a Saturday morning and it was not crowded. We all enjoyed our breakfast meals. The omelets were very good as was the egg biscuit. The biscuits are large, very large. I couldn’t finish mine. The biscuits tasted just right. Easy to swallow, not dry at all. The croissants looked beautiful and are gigantic. They’re very tasty with the perfect light crunch. You can eat inside or outside. We ate inside and the waiter was quick to take our order and bring the food. As I mentioned, it was early and few people were there. Coffee is good. Wide selection of tea bags. The pastries/bakery items on display take center stage. Be sure to buy a pastry item to eat later. You’ll be happy you did. Prices were reasonable for breakfast. We didn’t eat lunch or dinner there so my rating reflects breakfast only. There is an overall 4 star rating as there is another bakery restaurant we went to for breakfast that we decided was just a bit better, and a bit more pricey. That said, we would return to Saffron to eat again. Definitely very good and yummy food. I’d like to return to try their lunch menu too. Give it a try and write your own rating. ?
Parking: Parking lot in front of restaurant will hold only 5 cars, I believe. There is one handicapped spot. Not sure of where else to park as we walked from our hotel.
Kid-friendliness: Children are welcomed there. I did not notice if there was a children’s menu.
