I like the variety. The Crookie is a croissant filled with cookie dough. I expected a crunch to the croissant that was lacking. I wanted to put it in the oven to crisp it up but the pastry was already dark, slightly dry. I did enjoy the gooey cookie dough center. I also sampled a slice of chocolate cake that was good but I didnt get to sample it at room temperature to experience the different textures of the filling.

Coy is the best!
I’ve been to Saffron so many times over the past two years. It’s a really nice place to get lunch and then pick out some pastries or cookies to take to go! Always friendly service. At my most recent visit, Coy was a great server! I’m a big fan of Saffron’s tiramisu dessert, but there’s a huge selection of pastries and desserts!

Service is very slow. I ordered a plate and they came out ten minutes after, to tell me they are changing the menu so they didn’t have that plate. I was recommended a similar one to what I initially ordered and when it came out, the chicken was slimy and uncooked.
I will never come back to this place and do not recommend it AT ALL.

Normal cafe with decent food that has the worst service with no excuse for it. When I ate here 5 tables including ours had half the table's orders brought out while the kitchen forgot to even start the other ones. Wait staff also did not update us on our missing orders for 10 minutes. I had to get up and ask about it. Save your money and eat at home.

This place is so amazing. It has been my favorite bakery since moving to Charleston. Anybody that understands the way pastries are supposed to be made and textures are supposed to present. Will agree. Saffron is the best bakery in Charleston.

A Charleston staple on East Bay. Been around for decades, strong value play! Entrees around $20, glasses of wine 6-10. Ill say that again - glassed of wine around $8- when was the last time anybody has heard of that in 2025!? Very diverse menu, huge amount of desserts. Not the most high end in town, but not trying to be. Worth a try for a casual meal or dessert. Hard to call yourself a local without stopping by at least once.

We ate breakfast here two days in a row! Very convenient to our airbnb.
Dana our server helped steer us to some favorites, and serving sizes - we were going for the big breakfast no lunch approach, and we're bit disappointed! Enjoyed croissant sandwich, pancakes one day, french toast and biscuit the next. Recommend!

I purchased a lemon square, several cookies, tiramisu, a mini apple pie, and a crookie. Everything we bought was so stale that we just threw it away when we got home. Looked so good, but was so bad. I spent $50 that was a complete waste of money. How about some quality control?

Paid $20 not including tip for two slices of cake. Got an Oreo cheesecake that tasted like it had been sitting in the case for a week. The other chocolate cake I got was so dry box mix is more moist. The frosting on it made it edible. But I tossed the cheesecake. This place isn’t worth the money.
We went to Saffron for breakfast this am. Everything looked wonderful in the cases. We were seated but were not waited on very quickly. It seemed they were short on staff. So we had to do take out instead as my husband had a dr appointment. We got an almond croissant, eclair, and tea and coffee. I ordered chai tea latte … but they were out of that. So I ordered “ just tea” was given iced tea instead of hot tea. Not what I wanted on a beautiful but chilly morning. The croissant was one of the worst I have ever had. The texture was like it had been frozen and defrosted. Not fresh baked. It was dry and not crispy. Big disappointment! Won’t be going back.
