My dad and I had a pit stop in Charleston and stopped in for a drink. Unfortunately for us, it was just at closing time (10! Not 10:30 as written). We had just enough time for one round but the place was still lively. Our bartender, Shawn (Sean?) was such a wonderful guy and made us feel so welcome despite it being last call. A true locals dive in the best sense of the word.
Service was great has a downstairs area with a great deck and nice view. Staying 7 minutes away and to go food was cold and I didn't get mayo. Despite that would still recommend.
If you're looking for a cheap dive bar with a great view, Salty Mike's Deck Bar is the place for you. The bar is located under the Marina Variety Store, and it sits right on the water. In the summer, there's a nice breeze that makes it the perfect place to relax with a cold drink. The bar is frequented by locals, so you can be sure to find some great conversation here. The drinks are cheap, and the atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back.
