One of the best lattes I’ve had in a while. I got a hot almond milk brown sugar latte and a banana bread. The bread was quite good. I also really like the ambiance: quiet, bright, and welcoming.

had a great cortado during our visit to Charleston! enjoyed the coffee so much we bought beans ourself. our barista kindly talked us through her favorite beans and recommendations for espresso :)
Loved it - very local feeling to it. Off the hustle and bustle of the retail and tourists. Excellent oat milk Capp. and Italian style espresso. Both were perfection.

Probably my favorite coffee shop downtown. The baristas are efficient and polite. Iced coffee and orange cranberry scone are a must. Oh and the music hits right!

I love frequenting coffee shops and I always have my top 3 to my top 5. second state coffee is part of my top five coffee shops to go when i'm in deep in downtown. I also frequent blum coffee when i'm inowntown on the meeting street side and Kudu. to get some work done or if i'm looking for a huge place, then blum coffee, it is. Second state again had good service today. And good coffee

We didn’t get food but we got coffee. The wait was a bit longer than normal but that’s okay! It’s a cute tucked away place. Brown sugar latte is my go to order which is yummy. Not to sweet but not to strong!

Great coffee drinks
I came to this spot with my little sister who wants to be a barrista. The barrista named Drew was the epitome of good customer service and hospitality. I've worked in the service industry for the last 15 years; everything from cafes, bars, restaurants, etc. and she was without a doubt in my mind the most welcoming, comforting and cool as hell barrista I've ever met. I liked the interior of the place, the music, and the overall vibe. But I absolutely adored Drew. She spoke to my sister about barrista stuff and in turn made her feel much more confident about being a barrista someday and that holds a special place in my heart forever. Love this spot and adored the experience as a whole. Highly recommend it!

Friendly and quick baristas and consistently good drinks. I love the almond milk matcha! They also have really yummy pastries and baked goods Plenty of seating options inside and a couple tables outside as well. Always good music and there’s lots of plants and sunlight to start your day off right! Right near Colonial Park too so it’s a perfect spot to hit on a walk.

Atmosphere is wonderful and coffee was okay. The WA location coffee tastes slightly better but I’m also likely being overly picky! Unfortunately, the cinnamon roll we bought was completely stale and hard to the point of being inedible (and as someone who is not picky about baked goods, even stale ones, I mean this was truly inedible). Hopefully it was just a fluke but it was a bummer to realize after we left!
