I just wanna hands down give this restaurant the best review I can give because they absolutely deserve it. I work as a chef downtown here and I’ve never had such a welcoming atmosphere. My daughter had turned 15th today and had to put together last minute plans because I worked today and they really helped with the celebration. We decided to try this new Japanese concept restaurant and we’re not disappointed. The interior is very well done, perfect lighting, and cool hip atmosphere. The service is excellent, as with most good restaurants in Charkeston, but this was a step beyond. A well oiled Machine. Great drink options. Japanese Beer, Local Beer, Sake, Japanese Whiskey and craft cocktails.

We went for dinner and had a wonderful meal! We got a few different items and everything was delicious. The server recommended getting a few of the smaller shared plates and one or two larger plates. It worked out great because we were able to try more dishes. I highly recommend Shokudo.
