The food was so good! The brisket Benedict was huge, and the home fries were perfect. The waffles were a big hit as well! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They made great recommendations and were on top of things. The coffee was fresh, and they had plenty of seating indoors and out. We will definitely be back.

Though this situation has been rectified, I do want it to be known that my allergies were not taken seriously in the kitchen. My wonderful server wrote a note about my shellfish and mushroom allergy, but as I’m in the middle of eating my omelette, I find a mushroom. We quickly alerted our server and she comped our bill. I will likely not return here again, especially as someone who has worked in restaurants and KNOWS it’s completely possible to cook someone’s food without any cross contamination. To the owner, I would suggest refreshing your cooks’ memory on how to not give someone an allergic reaction. It’s a serious thing, someone’s careless action forced me in an unhealthy position. From what I was able to consume before abruptly ending my meal, the food was good! Especially the home fries! So if you don’t have any allergy, I would recommend this place!

Five Stars for Smoky Yolk’s Family Farewell Feast

Our last breakfast together before scattering back to Ohio and Alabama could’ve been a tearful affair—but Smoky Yolk swooped in with biscuits, bacon, and bottomless coffee to save the day.

From the moment we walked through those doors at 1234 Camp Rd, Charleston, SC, the air smelled like nostalgia and griddled goodness. The eggs—smoked to golden perfection—were proof that someone up there really cares about yolks. And those pancakes? Fluffy enough to double as pillows for our tired travel-weary souls.

Coffee refills came faster than we could mourn our impending goodbyes. Each cup felt like a warm hug from a stranger who just happens to know your morning soul better than you do.

The staff handled our slightly sappy group with kindness and zero judgment over our multiple “one more bite” pleas. They even smiled knowingly when we teetered on the brink of breakfast-induced tears—because they get it. This isn’t just food; it’s family glue, and Smoky Yolk is the secret recipe.

If you’re in Charleston craving a taste of home-cooked love (without having to wash the dishes afterward), pull up a chair at Smoky Yolk. Your stomach—and your heart—will thank you.

The food and service were exceptional. The whole ambiance of the restaurant was nice. My husband and I sat on the patio with our dogs, which was surprisingly cool because they have many fans. Our waitress was very sweet. Unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. Well priced! The cook even gave us some extra bacon for our pups. The breakfast burger was so amazing.

They sent a partial order via Uber Eats and refused to give me a refund. They stated I have to contact Uber … never had that experience with any other restaurant. Jersey Mikes and Bohemian Bull credited me directly whenever I had an issue. I do a lot of online ordering but will 100% exclude Smokey Yolk in the future.
