New Year's Eve, great meal, we all had steaks. Delicious and cooked how we requested. Truffle fries were top notch. Vesper martinis were outstanding and packed a punch. Rooftop was quiet and. Laid back, even on new years. Ring in new years on first floor. Overall, an enjoyable night that we would repeat
A disappointing experience at this restaurant. The highlight of the dinner was the Cajun shrimp. My husband and I ordered the chefs cut 20 ounce rib eye to share. The steak was difficult to cut because of all the gristle. Not what I was expecting for a $120 piece of steak. We were able to eat half of what was served because of the gristle and bone. Rib eye is my favorite cut of meat and I've never had a piece like this. We spoke to the waitstaff who said that we were not the first that evening to complain about it. He did offer a free dessert to compensate for our disappointment with the quality of the steak. If driving through Charleston again I will not be stopping at this restaurant.
Menu wasn't the same as on their website. It was limited. Disappointing. Wouldn't recommend it with so many other great places to dine downtown. Servers were very nice though.
$58 steak requested medium, came charred on outside rare on inside , sent back , came back more charred on outside and equally rare .. removed from bill .. bill comes .. waiter says “ you owe $202” and you owe $189. 89 , no itemized bill presented ... food was not worth the price , do not recommend
My group and I had the BEST time at Stars! It was my first time in Charleston and this dinner as the last - really did save the best for last! Miguel the head Chef came over to share some insights of the menu/offerings and we were not disappointed by any of the dish. Each one was thoughtfully done, perfectly cooked and seasoned uniquely with seasonal + locally sourced ingredients. Our server Dakota was outstanding as well and Anna was awesome too. Truly was an amazing experience and I will definitely be back next time I visit! :)
Has to be the absolute best cornbread anywhere! Huge bowl of superb onion soup and a fantastic salad made it a perfect evening for me. My husband loved his lamb shank. It's a definitely would go back to kind of place!
I never leave bad reviews but this was the single WORST service I've received in Charleston. The restaurant was almost empty. They had one large table seated which was already served and getting their checks. Otherwise EMPTY. We waited at our table over 30 minutes with kids before finally leaving. They never delivered our drink order or the bread basket we ordered. (How long does it take to bring a bread basket?) Never took our food order. 30 minutes and only water. Again, they were essentially empty. No apology or recognition that we were ignored until we walked out. If you're hungry, go someplace with a competent staff. We walked across the street to Rarebit and were treated well.
They were a little short staffed and short on menus, but our server was very sweet and attentive. Great dirty martini. The BBQ shrimp appetizer and scallops were to die for, but the cut on the steak for steak frites was a little tough.
Atmosphere was 4 stars. Rooftop was pretty. Had to go to bar for service. The table we sat at wobbled. Bar tender fixed it for us with some napkins. They were just getting ready to start playing live music as our reservation in the restaurant became available. Prob would have been fun up there.
Dinner was ok, I am from Chicago and I learned that the food in Chicago is very good and hard to match anywhere. I order the soup of the day. Which was baked French onion. It was a small serving- delicious. There wasn’t a price but I figured it would be comparable to the rest of the prices. Turned out to be $23! ?
Service was good. Chef was walking around talking to tables.
Overall I’d go back and skip the soup.

Overall experience was not what I remembered when I was there last year. Restaurant for a Sunday lunch was dead. Served was nice. Overall the food was good but lackluster for the prices.

Walked up like 4 flights of stairs (they do have an elevator) roof top is beautiful. There was live music, umbrellas and a bubble
Machine. We didn’t eat but inside smelled delicious. Huge main floor for dining, there’s like a private event space on the 3rd floor and then the rooftop. Bar tender was kind of rude.. but maybe that’s just his vibe. Made a decent margarita. It was a whole vibe up there we loved it

Service was good, food was disgusting. Absolutely awful. Overcooked. If you’re paying for $30+ a plate you’d expect more. Really bad
