WOW… love this small cute bakery on a side street of downtown Charleston!!! I did a Google search and found Sugar Bakery had very good reviews.. I had a custom mini wedding cake made for my son’s weddings in Kiawah Island. I ordered a confetti cake with strawberry jam filling with white frosting & I decorated the rest with a figurine & flowers. The cake was absolutely delicious! We also bought a dozen cupcakes , trying seasonal flavors, classics , and a few gluten free. They did not disappoint , the lavender was probably a favorite! Next time I visit Charleston I will be sure to go back !

Called to get information for a tasting box that per their website “can be anything you want” but in fact it can not be anything but what she feels like making that day for you to try. Missed out on a large wedding order since questions regarding what they offer was such an inconvenience.

May have gotten a bit unlucky as I’ve heard great things about this place. Picked up a small cake for my wife’s birthday, and it tasted a little stale.
The prices are pretty steep for their cakes, so it sets a very high bar from a taste perspective that simply wasn’t met. Will definitely try again and hopefully will get a better result.
The location was great, inside was cute, and the young woman that helped me was very kind!
Visited this place while visiting Charlotte. The cupcakes were really good. But the owner was a bit unpleasant. She seemed to be almost annoyed. I asked her a question and she was sharp with me. I felt unwelcome. The young lady waiting on people was very nice.

Absolutely amazing cinnamon roll, the cupcakes were soft and delicious. Probably the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. Compared to other bakeries in the area, the price is very fair.
