From the moment I walked in knew it would be an experience of a lifetime. The smiles that met me and the way I was treated from the moment I stepped in the restaurant informed me of the experience that was about to ensue. With every bite, smile, and story of Japan our chef shared my night elevated further and further eventually leading me to sushi heaven. I’ll be back whenever a reservation pops up and I’ll make sure to always say yes to the wagyu. A truly exceptional experience that transports to Nagano, Japan and back.

An amazing experience. Definitely not just a plane to grab a quick meal, but a place to slow down, relax, and really appreciate the unique experience of omakase.

This was the perfect Omakase experience.
The staff made it accessible and not intimidating at all.
They answered every sushi and sake question we could pepper them with ;)
Every bite was delicious and the pace was PERFECT!

One of the best omakase experience in town. A great selection of sakes to pair with the freshest nigiri bites.

Chris and his two partners and co-workers are kind, thoughtful, and incredible sushi chefs. The food was equivalent to any top Sushi restaurant in the country. Put them up against anyone!

By far my favorite omakase sushi place in Charleston! They source ingredients from all over the world with top notch quality. What made my experience even more memorable was the fact that chef Chris was very friendly and chatted with all the guests throughout the dinner (my fellow diners were also fun and lively.) For a 15+1 pieces omakase, it's well worth the price.

Minor critique: in the first few pieces, my sushi rice was a little on the mushier side but it improved the second half of the dinner.

Absolutely fantastic omakase sushi, it's $100 flat for the omakase. If you want you can add drinks and even wagyu beef. They'll also continue feeding you afterwards à la carte until the next service. Highly recommend, reservations are required you will not be seated without a reservation.

Best sushi in Charleston!

The chefs were very nice, we enjoyed talking with them and learning about the different fish and where they came from.

There was an excellent variety of Sake available by the glass and bottle.

Needless to say, they sushi was phenomenal, very fresh and tasted great. Get the Waygu add-on, it's worth it.

My GF and I had a great experience and will be returning soon!

What a fabulous experience!
This was my second time and all the food was out of this world!
The beef bite at the end was also unbelievable!
I would recommend getting a bottle of sake if you have 2 or 3 people in your group.

Love Sushi-Wa. One of my absolute FAVORITE restaurants. I always leave satisfied but still cannot wait until my next visit. One of these days, I’ll book and sit for both seatings in a single night!

One of my top 5 restaurants in Charleston. Quality and taste is EPIC and getting to chat with Kazu and Chris just makes the experience so much more intimate. Such a fantastic value for the quality and quantity of food - my main recommendation is to keep a running list of the dishes served because at the end of the meal, you get to order more of whatever you liked a la carte. If you ever get the chance for a hard to get reservation here, TAKE IT!!!!
