Shrinkflation (smaller tacos, big price), no more free chips, 3% ripoff service charge. Literally had to search for the tiny shred of mahi in my fish tacos. Half the tortilla is empty and they are using smaller tortillas than they used to. People notice stuff like this. $63 for tacos and one lousy margarita is robbery. Businesses should not be charging a 3% service charge and also requiring a tip. Consumers are fed up. Pay your employees a fair wage and we will leave a good tip for the server. The old deal of 20-25% for good service is off if you want to charge us a service charge in addition to the 20+% tip. Forcing us to pay for your credit card machine or the back of house staff is disgusting and unfair. It’s called overhead and every business has it - pay your own overhead instead of passing it on. Your food and service is NOT good enough to justify this pricing and behavior. Have been going to taco boy years as the cap to my many Charleston trips throughout the year. Never again. I’ll stick to the classics (pages, halls, 167, amen, magnolia, snob) but you guys aren’t it.
Taco Boy is a pretty lively atmosphere with bar-style Tex-Mex. While they may not serve the most authentic Mexican food you'll ever have, it hits the spot. It’s worth noting that it can get quite noisy which is not ideal for anyone looking for a quiet evening - however, it’s a great spot for a fun, casual night out.
Excellent Birria Tacos and Rice and Beans. Pepsi products are a plus for me. Ate outdoors and Dog was welcome. Food came out so quick. The home hot sauce was fiery. I bought two for the road
I had a great time at taco boy downtown! The fried chicken taco wasn’t on the menu anymore which sucks. My server Jada was able to get it for me, and it made my day! Great service, smiles around! Most restaurants don’t have the manager stop by and talk, but Justin did and it was nice seeing all the team work together. 10/10 would recommend !
Best food, atmosphere, and service. Seperate fryer for tortilla chips, which means nachos for someone like me that has celiac disease. They are very accommodating and have lots of allergy friendly foods. I can't say enough great things about this Taco Boy. Just bring your sweater if sitting inside.
Unique place with a good variety of tacos. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. It was recommended by a friend we were visiting who had coworkers that brought the food for lunch a few times. We were visiting from out of town and wish we could come back on a regular basis. We will visit again when we return to the Charleston area.
Don’t let the exterior fool you. Once you see the front door, you know it’s a different lunch place.
Food: good. Margaritas: on tap and good. Bartender: looked like Tarzan and good. S-Tier experience.
Came to Taco Boy Charleston today all the way from Murrells Inlet and it was FANTASTIC! I am a picky eater and the nacho appetizer, bean tacos and street corn were so good! The frozen screwdriver was very refreshing as well! Thank you to the manager Justin our server Davis and hostess Martha for a great experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So fun, the vibes were perfect with some yummy tacos!

My husband and I LOVE Taco Boy. The food, drinks, and service have never disappointed. However, we were devastated to see the OG chicken taco was no longer on the menu!!! Please bring it back!!!
