Amazing atmosphere, fantastic service, and delicious cocktails. One of our favorite places we stopped at while adventuring downtown. Definitely worth a visit!
Peas and carrots cocktail was great. Earthy but amazing
Fantastic Drinks & Even Better Service!
My wife and I love it here, and I have to say, it’s one of the best spots in town! The atmosphere is inviting, the drinks are top-notch, and the service is outstanding.
Allen is a master of mixology—his cocktails are perfectly balanced, creative, and always spot-on. Anna brings such a warm energy behind the bar, making everyone feel welcome while serving up delicious drinks with speed and skill.
Whether you’re looking for a craft cocktail, a classic pour, or just a great conversation, this is the place to be. Highly recommend stopping by if you haven’t already. We will definitely be back soon!
I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into when I walked through the doors for a drink and a bite to eat at this establishment earlier this evening. I suppose one cannot prepare for such things. I have to start somewhere, though, so I'll begin by saying upon sitting at the bar I initially thought I had made a mistake. "You're not dressed for this," I kept thinking. This establishment is incredibly luxurious, and I was dressed in a very casual street attire. But I was also wrong. The bartenders, Rose and Tori, made me feel welcome and right at home. They prepared an alcohol-free "mocktail" for me, since I don't usually drink alcohol and had come primarily for the food. I'm not sure what the ingredients were but it was absolutely phenomenal. Then, Chef Karen came out of the kitchen specifically to recommend something special for me for the night (by the way, the prices here are amazingly affordable for the quality). It was not busy at all at the time so I'm not sure everyone will have the same experience but it was nice. I ended up ordering the Speck Taters (that was Chef Karen's recommendation, although I'm not sure if I got the spelling right), what I initially believed to be just some fun diced potatoes. I was not ready for what happened next. I do love food, I must say, but usually I eat too fast and don't get to genuinely enjoy my meal. This was the first food I've had in years that forced me to slow down and savor it. There are no words in the English vocabulary to describe the flavor. It transcended any other culinary experience I've ever had, and was about as close to a spiritual experience as I've ever had eating anything. Chef Karen is a genius, and her recommendation couldn't have been more inspired. I have henceforth decided that whenever I am downtown, I simply must return to this place again. And I recommend everyone and anyone to try this fantastic establishment. Because here they serve quite literally the best food I've ever eaten in my entire life.

Stepping into The Bar at The Spectator Hotel is like being whisked away to a bygone era where the clink of ice in a glass and the murmur of a jazz record playing softly in the background are the prelude to an unforgettable evening. Here, the art of cocktail-making is revered, and every sip is a testament to the craft.
Rose and Corinne, the stars behind the bar, are the maestros of this symphony of flavors. With a smile as warm as the Charleston sun and a touch as deft as a painter's, they mix, shake, and pour with an elegance that is both mesmerizing and assuring. Their service is not just courteous; it's a masterclass in hospitality.
The cocktails they create are nothing short of liquid masterpieces. Whether it's the boldness of an old-fashioned or the subtle complexity of a bourbon infused concoction, each drink is a harmonious blend of quality ingredients and creative flair. And it's not just the drinks that tell a story; it's the way Rose and Corrine present them, with a grace that elevates the entire experience.
At The Bar at The Spectator Hotel, every detail is meticulously curated to transport you to an age of sophistication and splendor. From the plush green leatherback stools to the Prohibition-style ambiance, it's a place where the spirit of the Jazz Age is alive and well, thanks to the tireless efforts of Rose and Corinne, who ensure that every guest leaves with a story to tell and a desire to return.
In a world where the art of the cocktail can often be overlooked, The Bar at The Spectator Hotel stands as a beacon of excellence, a reminder of the time when a drink was more than just a drink—it was an experience. And with Rose and Corrine at the helm, it's an experience that is truly spectacular.?✨

A friend told us about this place and we decided to check it out. We had high expectations for the cocktails and our bartender exceeded them - well executed and perfectly balanced. The small bar room isn’t bad to look at either while enjoying your drinks.
