What a great raw bar. Sat right at the shucking station overlooking King Street — great vibe. The oysters were tremendous (Dukes from Topsail, NC and Belle du Jours from New Brunswick, Canada) but the mignonette was stupendous…ginger and celery root. Subtle but tasty, it was a perfect accompaniment to the oysters, which I should add were well shucked. Had a great Italian white to wash it down. Plus, the service was great. Highly recommended!
What a great find! The shrimp were excellent, by far the best we've ever had. The bartenders were attentive and created some fantastic cocktails for us. Wonderful atmosphere too.
The Darling is BY FAR my favorite restaurant in downtown Charleston. The jumbo shrimp cocktail is to die for, the scallops are out of this world, and the hush puppies with sorghum butter…. A MUST! I travel to Charleston solo for work about once a month and I always eat at The Darling at least once (if not every night). I sit at the bar and the vibe and service is stellar.
