The very best pork belly I have ever had. It was tender and melted in my mouth. My wife had the trout and said it was awesome and to finish off the night I had the Pana Cotta with the peach compote and it was to die for! Don't forget to get a jar of the tornado sauce to take with you! It goes good on anything!!!

We dined at this out-of-the-way restaurant based on a recommendation of a friend.

First, the portions were more than ample.

We started with the beat salad with goat cheese and pecans.

Our main course was trout with rice and butter beans, with a side of grits and brussels sprouts with cheese. Each of the dishes were extra extraordinarily tasteful, well seasoned, and presented nicely.

Those four dishes were more than enough for two of us for dinner. The total bill with tip was $56.

This restaurant is certainly worth a trip out of the central city.

Low key atmosphere with great service and great food. Southern soul food at its finest. Totally recommend this restaurant. Everything was amazing. Note: you can order the quail either with one or with two quail. Better be hungry if ordering two. Enjoy! Oh! Don’t forget to ask for Thunder sauce for the quail! 👍🏼

From top to bottom, a truly phenomenal experience. The waitress was peppy, fun, and had great recommendations. The smoked honey whiskey sour tasted like being a kid sitting in the backseat of your grandpa's Cadillac as he drove you to the park. The braised pork belly was fantastic, buttery smooth, and oh, so tender. The key lime tart was delightful, the crust tender and buttery, the filling just the right mix of firm but creamy. All of this, at a very reasonable price. Whatever you do, don't miss this one

Stevanna was a wonderful waitress and the food was amazing. This is the kind of place that you hope you find on your first day of vacation so that you can come back at least one more time, maybe twice! Don’t leave here without a piece of peanut butter pie either on your table or in a to go box. Thanks to my sister for recommending this hidden gem.

Service was great! The staff was super friendly, attentive, but did not hover. I got the shrimp & grits along with the fried green tomatoes & pimento cheese. All I can say is when I back in the area, I know where I’ll be going to get some delicious food!

Classic shrimp and grits done very well. The cold shrimp appetizer with okra and potato chips was a fun starter. We ended up buying the cookbook we enjoyed the recipes so much.

I went in for lunch by myself, which was fine at first and then a large table came in since I was by myself. I was pretty much ignored after that, but the food was good and yes, I’ll probably go back. Timing was bad. You shouldn’t go by yourself there at lunchtime.
I probably won’t go by myself again though.

This is a gem for sure. Got an early booth and beautiful white wine followed by a shared bowl Of tasty gumbo with just the right spice. Followed by the new blackened FL wahoo over grits with butter bean salad. The fish was perfect and those grits to die for. Creamy and fluffy. Could leave without a bath in the bread pudding. Oh my it was delish. Well done!
