Old Irish pub with dollar bills y'all.

Elizabeth Hernandez (Lizzy)

While the food menu was definitely appealing, we only enjoyed beer and wine.

As soon as you walk in you're completely mesmerized by the dollar bills. There are so many coating almost every surface telling the story of many travelers and locals. We decided to leave our mark while we were here. They have markers and a stapler for you to add your own.

Next visit, we're having food!

I travel for work and dine at a lot of restaurants, rarely to I find an establishment that doesn’t have a flaw. The Griffon is FLAWLESS!!
Impeccable service! Food was absolute perfection!
The restaurant is very clean, including the restrooms. The servers were charming.
Park in the city garage and easily walk to The Grffon.

We were looking at the menu outside the door deciding to go in as two city workers came out and told us to try it because we wouldn't be disappointed and they were right. The decor was amazing and we contributed to it's wow factor with our own offering. Fish and chips and beer hit the spot and the servers were so friendly. A very memorable Charleston experience for us.

Food was ok. Service was extra slow as they were busy chatting and playing darts, which was understandable.

After an excellent dinner at a restaurant around the corner our little party of five thought about some slow down time in a cozy 'European-style' pub and that we found in 'The Griffon" indeed. With a small but nice selection of beers, the order was easy - my Guinness was well tapped for temperature and freshness - thx - nice pub and friendly but limited service. Worthwhile visit for fun!

This little place really has the perfect corner pub feel—it was genuinely perfect. There aren’t very many tables and you have to be a regular to get a place up to the bar. We were there in late afternoon and it was already hopping. This would be a great place to start a Charleston pub crawl. Everyone is friendly and the beer pours freely and it is simply a great jovial place. The homemade chips and cheese were excellent and the fish and chips is one of their specialties and worth trying.

Parking: Downtown Charleston is mostly paid street or garage parking

Kid-friendliness: Not an appropriate place to bring you children

Wheelchair accessibility: Two or three steps to get to this place. So not wheelchair accessible.

A great stop over for lunch. The fish and onion rings were as advertised in other reviews - very tasy. The service was excellent - they worked as a team and there was always someone available to help you out. Excellent vibe of the place and overall great experience.
