The staff was nice, and the rooms are "pretty" although it is haunting staying in a plantation and thinking about the history of the grounds. And although the rooms look good, upon closer inspection you can see the finishes are quite shoddy. But more importantly, the breakfast is the bare minimum requirement. There isn't even a toaster to heat up bread or bagels, no spoons with which to eat cereal or yoghurt (we called and this was never provided), and no real cutlery or plates, which seems like a real ecological waste (especially for a place that prides itself on being environmentally friendly). Overall, while this place is nice enough, it is definitely too expensive for what it is.

The Middleton Inn is located at the Middleton plantation, and the grounds are absolutely spectacular. We are used to staying in a B&B so the architecture and room were a little more modern than we are used to, but it was beautiful. We did let them know that they needed to Replace the Keurig and the coffee cups were not clean when we arrived. With that said, everything else was amazing. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, tours a Middleton Place were included, except for horseback riding and the museum tour. The continental breakfast in the morning is in the Lake House a short walk from our room. If you are looking for quiet and serene stay with beautiful opportunities for walks and rest, this place is for you! just know that you’re about a 25 minute drive from Charleston if you want a nice selection of places to eat. We will definitely stay again and were happy with our choice.

From the moment you arrive, the friendly staff greets you with warm smiles. The rooms are elegantly decorated, and the attention to detail is impressive. The hotel's magical garden is a serene oasis that transports you to a world of wonder. The dining experience is top-notch, with delicious dishes to satisfy your palate. Enchanted Haven Hotel is a must-visit for a truly magical experience.

I was expecting something a little more. Check-in was easy and accommodating. The room itself is nothing special. The bathroom was well equipped and up to date. It was also very clean. We had trouble with the large sliding door to the bathroom. It jammed stuck and it too 15 minutes to get out. The room was clean but outdated and had a musty and damp smell. We had noises in the fireplace most of the night. We did take advantage of the happy hour. They had reduced prices on drinks and had a simple cheese and cracker spread. Breakfast was in a different building and it was mostly paster and cereal. Drink options were plenty. For the price I expected a more up to date accommodation. It was close to Middleton place and the inn provided admission. All-in-all I would not go back for a repeat visit.

The space itself is beautiful. It offers a place to escape to if you would like to enjoy something else beside your room. There's games downstairs and a chess board upstairs. It feels homey.I had to take away two stars for our ordered ham and cheese sandwich. It was terrible! The salad welted , partially black and shriveled. The sandwich was stored in a plastic container and was already wet and soggy. It was supposed to come on sourdough bread, but it was a toast with caraway seeds. The ham was dried up and partially grey (yuck!!!) There was no sauce on the sandwich, and it was very clear that it was NOT fresh made. I would NOT recommend to get a sandwich there. It was just disgusting and costed 11$

Great inn. Rooms are nicely done, too. Breakfast is in a different building. The grounds are nice and well manicured. You can walk around the property. The restaurant is about 15min walk but for dinner (reservations required), you can drive up to the place. Down the street (2 mil) from Magnolia Inn and can visit that plantation, too. Lowe’s food store in 15min away and nice sandwich and coffee shop there as well.

The azaleas are in bloom and the surroundings have impeccable views. We love how peaceful the surroundings are, letting us truly “unplug” from the world. Dinner was great! I recommend the hanger steak. The addition of after dinner port and macaroons at the lodge is a nice treat.

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for two nights while touring Middleton Place. We'd just come from five nights in a historic B and B in Charleston, so the architectural style of the Inn was very different from where we'd been, and an amazing contrast. The buildings sit beautifully in their surroundings. They are secluded among large trees and our room looked out over the bend in the Ashley River. It's very quiet and very relaxing. The interior of the room is finished mainly in wood and is beautiful. There's a wood burning fireplace with wood provided in the winter months, and we took advantage of it. It's a great place to sleep as it's extremely quiet. It's a short walk along a trail to Middleton Place itself, and all that it has to offer in house and garden tours. You needn't drive to see it. A very nice hot breakfast is provided each morning. The only downside we had was that we had dinner reservations at the restaurant which were cancelled due to problems with some new kitchen equipment. This was disappointing. Be forewarned that if you choose not to eat at the restaurant you'll need to drive 25 minutes or more to Charleston or Summerfield for a decent meal. We loved it and hope to return again. Highly recommend.

We wanted to visit Charleston yet again- but we didn’t want the typical downtown kind of weekend. We wanted to visit the Angel Tree and learn more about the history of Charleston. We chose The Inn at Middleton Place. The drive into the property winds though a sandy road lined with flowered trees and horses. The buildings are modern in nature but blend into the riverside scenery beautifully. The room had a beautiful view through floor to ceiling shuttered windows. We enjoyed the fireplace and the stockpile of firewood- as it was a mite chilly in February. We had everything we needed in the room, and breakfast at the Lake House was delicious each morning & only a short walk from our room. (That part of our morning reminded us of being away at camp- walking to the mess hall with the smell of burning wood drifting in the air.) The best part of our stay was the access to Middleton Place and it’s beautiful gardens any time we wished! It was a very short walk along nice paths to get to the plantation, and we spend entire days enjoying the grounds. There were other trails and treks we enjoyed around the rice fields- just be super careful about the alligators when you’re out in secluded areas. They are a real danger. We will definitely go again!

Middleton Place has so much to offer at decent rates and very inviting staff all around. The Middleton Inn atmosphere was very much like an "artist's retreat" with lots of open air spaces (trails/woods), modern architecture, and eco-conscience amenities. Fewer rooms provide lots of quiet and privacy. Your stay includes day admission to the grounds and grounds tours. Only the house tour and equestrian tour cost extra, but are well worth it. Once you're there you don't have to leave there is so much to do (or not to do). All the staff are exceptional and welcoming. It is a very family friendly environment that also lends itself well to individuals and couples. While very accessible on the main grounds garden area, the property is very large and requires a great deal of walking and steps/hillsides. The equestrian tour was very worthwhile for getting around the larger part of the property and rice fields/bogs. The garden tour guides were extremely helpful and wonderful to talk to. The animals are not shy either. Cannot recommend enough!

We LOVE everything about Middleton Place. We walked the ground every morning and evening. A little distance drive from the busy tourist areas but close enough for us to get back to soak in and enjoy the serenity of this place. Will definitely be back!
