I have been here many times. I love the food so much. The steak Diane, steak tartare, and panna cota are my favorite.
Incredible! The oysters were absolutely fantastic! The dirty martini was absolutely perfect! And the Wagyu Belvette was honestly the best dish I’ve probably ever had in terms of a steak. And the service was absolutely top tier. If I’m ever in the area again I will make the effort to come back. And, if you have the opportunity to dine here it is an absolute must!
Such a welcoming environment
Another fabulous meal!
My wife and I recently visited Charleston for about a week, and while we were there, decided to try The Ordinary. We enjoyed it so much that we went a second time before heading home. Both lunch and dinner were amazing. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. The drinks, food, staff and atmosphere were second to none. We will definitely be back on our next visit.
Our server Rebecca was an absolute delight and so knowledgeable about the menu. She checked on us without being ‘too involved’ and made our experience excellent. The cocktails and oysters were delicious and our snapper and grouper entrees were amazing. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtful. A must try in Charleston.
My husband and I have been dining here for years and nothing beats getting there early and sitting at the bar and ordering their famous Oyster sliders. They are truly incredible. That along with one of their daiquiris and you’re set for the start of an incredible evening.
The restaurant is beautiful, the outdoor seating is very quaint and a well thought out space. My dinner companion ordered the fish schnitzel, and I have to say... surprisingly unique and very delicious. I opted for the Wagyu with Chantrelles. Easily one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. There was a pair of younger guys in there that did their best to ruin everyone's evening, and I overstepped a bit by telling them they were being disrespectful and spoiling our time. A manager intervened at that point, and he handled the situation brilliantly. The obviously intoxicated men were asked to leave, and the manager was apologetic, friendly, and even bought us a dessert for any inconvenience. Our experience with the staff alone would bring us back, but the food took it over the top.
we put this over two years ago for graduation for the two nights of graduation nearly $900 a night certainly no value for money room smelled of damp wanted an extra $60 to make up the room. Didn’t even come in and top up the coffee the worst value I’ve ever experience
We had a wonderful time here, the whole experience was great. The service and food were amazing and Rebecca was an awesome server. We got the oyster sliders and the level 2 tower and were blown away by the presentation and flavors. The drinks were very good too, the espresso martini was hands down the best one I’ve ever had! So glad we came here during our Charleston visit because the night before we went to a different restaurant that was awful despite having so many good reviews online and the experience there was so bad that it almost soured us on Charleston completely. Will definitely be recommending The Ordinary to anyone in Charleston!

Service, food and atmosphere could not be improved! I had read reviews about service and price and almost did not go, thank GOD I followed my instincts and went anyway. The food was amazing, the Bird Island Oysters reminded me of my loved Venezuelan ones! Full of taste, smaller and delicious! All the waitresses and people serving and greeting were outstandingly warm and interested in talking to us, our little maltipoo Nana was welcomed with love and attention. I cannot find the words to appreciate such a wonderful experience. I will come back every time I am back in this beautiful and lively city! We also had the wahoo, asparagus cream and raw yelloweyed ponzu! Delicious until the last bite…
Pricey but it’s King St in Charleston . Smoked oysters are AHMAZING!
Delicious food.. oysters I mean yoh can’t go wrong.. the grouper was the best ever! Only negative was the exceptional wait time for our food.
Anything but ordinary!
Exactly what I was looking for on my visit to Charleston. Sophisticated, yet not an overly classy feel inside this space that was once a bank. Tables are well spaced but the vibe is still plenty lively.
Divine martinis. Shared oysters 🦪 , steak tartare 🥩, swordfish 🐟, blue crab pasta 🔵 🦀, and some fried okra. Not a single miss on the menu. Food, service and martinis were all outstanding.
We WILL go back! The food looks beautiful, but tastes even better! And you cannot beat the service!
