My wife and I had dinner here. Logan took care of us. The only thing we ordered was a dozen oysters. The rest we let them bring out whatever they wanted. Incredible meal. Highly recommend.

I had an absolute great time at this establishment a couple of weeks ago! The service was better than I ever expected at an "oyster bar!" The food was over the top! And the atmosphere led lots of beverages and fun! Basically, if we weren't cognizant of letting them turn over the table (they did nothing to pressure, we just wanted the server to get another round of tips), we may have stayed until escorted out!Of course, we'll be back!

We decided to try this restaurant based on the online menu but was disappointed since the website was out of date. And based on the server’s response it seems the website menu hadn’t been updated in quite a while. The atmosphere and the service was great but to say I was disappointed with the food would be a grave understatement. The food that was offered was under the heading “Dinners” but the portions were actually tapas-sized. One dish we ordered was thinly sliced cheese over thinly sliced ham. I would hardly consider that a “dinner”. Another was a crudos, which to be fair was tasty, but was only a total of about 1/2 cup of food served with ruffles potato chips. The raw oysters were good, but you can’t really mess that up. For the 6 of us it cost around $350 with food and drinks. Once the check came we left and stopped at Wendy’s on the way home.

One of the worst and strangest dining experiences I can recall. Here’s a list of what all went wrong:- Waited 40 minutes after the reservation to be seated- Waited an additional 20 minutes after being seated to place orders.- Received 4 shrimp for $18. Note that this is $4.50 per shrimp, which is more than the oysters.- Portions were incredibly small.- Food all came out at different times. The person with 4 shrimp was finished well before the last person got their food.- The food is all barely what the menu describes it as.- The “ham” is thinly sliced cheese placed on top of sparse pieces of what is clearly prosciutto.- The “yellowfin tuna” is actually some sort of salsa mixed with raw pieces of tuna and (I kid you not) about a dozen Lays potato chips in a ramekin.- It was so dark the servers kept missing the glasses when pouring water.Pros:- The decor is nice, I guess.- The oysters were good- The wine was very good (but also $16 a glass)- The server was niceAll in all about $200 down the drain. We were all still hungry after.

After enduring an hour of the Vienna Light Orchestra's "greatest hits" at the Circular Church, actually a semi-circle, we decided it was high time for a grown-up beverage or three. For reasons even I still can't fathom, we decided to hit up Q, the new kid on the block in Charleston's ever-expanding roster of Raw Bar hangouts. Not to be confused with the shark snack in Jaws, Q was a fancy way of saying Quintessential. Back in the day, it was a watering hole for sailors, when the Naval Base was the sole reason you'd bother stepping foot in this formerly dicey part of downtown. The stools at this joint were straight out of the Inquisition playbook—so tiny and uncomfortable, you'd be confessing to Heresy after 10 minutes. OUCH! Bartenders were the talkative type. The drinks were top-notch, but they came in glasses more suited for a kid's tea party. And the price tag you ask? I played it cool, asked Siri on the sly about the winery, and what do you know—a bottle cost less than the glass I got served. OUCH! Trying to hold off hunger till our dinner reservation, we dipped our toes into Quinte's appetizers, starting with the oh-so-appetizing sounding “DEVILED EGGS - $6.00”. But before you could say "Typo," a ramekin with two egg halves showed up. For those schooled in NEW MATH, two halves equal a solitary egg, despite the menu proclaiming "DEVILED EGGS," plural. I never thought I'd drop the equivalent of $72 per dozen on Deviled Eggs, not even at Yankee Stadium during a Red Sox series. OUCH! The Yellowfin Tuna, although taking its sweet time to grace our presence, was a silver lining, super-fresh and delicious! Yet, our jaws dropped as bagged potato chips were tossed onto the plate. Couldn't Quinte’s hotshot Executive Chef whip up something in-house? OUCH! Sadly enough, we won't be gracing this pint-sized, albeit "cute looking" (according to my wife), Gin Joint/Raw Bar anytime soon. But don't fret, this is Charleston, so there's always a parade of tourists and bachelorette parties with money burning a hole in their pockets, to keep this dinghy afloat.

The best dining experience we had in Charleston. We sat in front of the oyster bar and watched as all our dishes were prepared. Jerome expertly shucked the cleanest oysters we’ve ever eaten. Our favorite dish was the scallop crudo, but another honorable mention was the smoked fish with ham.Great atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable staff.Props to the team behind W.M. Mulherin’s in Philadelphia. Excited to see what you have in store next.

Our group enjoyed the hospitality, atmosphere, food and cocktails. The Quinte is an excellent side street gem. The entire staff was professional, knowledgeable and attentive from the time we arrived to closing time. It was obvious they were happy to be there and took pride in their work. The cocktails were complex and balanced. We tried a good portion of the menu and it was all fresh, of high quality and paced well . We enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to returning.

Let me start with the food and service, which was overall great and have no complaints there. My friend and I dined here last week on the first night we arrived in Charleston. We had the snapper crudo, oysters, shrimp roll, the steamed grouper in a brown butter sauce and we avoided alcohol. We understand there’s always a risk with consuming raw or undercooked foods, but this is was not our first time eating raw fish and have never had an issue. Unfortunately, I came down with a crippling case of food poisoning hours later and had to be taken to the emergency room in an ambulance from our hotel. I was stunned when the doctor diagnosed me with food poisoning, because this place was very upscale. I tried to get ahold of the general manager, left messages but they have not contacted me back. I would say to the staff to take better care of food sourcing and handling so that future guests do not go through what I went though. I had to cancel a lot of my tours and pre-planned dinners because I was still getting over my food poisoning.

Small restaurant with great raw bar. Peel and eat shrimp were excellent. The daily oyster selection was wonderful. Recommend for a lighter lunch

The quality of the food here was great. Loved the oysters and the steamed grouper. Delicious food, hand crafted cocktails and excellent, friendly service. I thought it was a bit overpriced, though, and the portions were smaller than I expected. Also the tables are too close together. My wife and I were beside another couple and it felt like they were our dinner dates because their table was so close.

Favorite restaurant in Charleston! Such a beautiful experience with the staff and the seafood was unparalleled. (Get the steamed fish, you won’t regret it)
