The cocktails and mocktails were tasty. However, the food was average. The lobster dish didn't taste like lobster or any type of seafood so that was disappointing. The best thing we ate was the chicken legs but overall nothing special. We will try again and order lamb burger. Service was great and the manager greeted us so that was a nice touch. Very nice decor and energetic atmosphere.

We stopped by for thanksgiving, everything was great aside from the fact that they were out of touch with their own menu prices. We dined in and were offered a $75 prefix menu. This included an app, entree, and dessert. The entree was great and priced around $22-$37 entree. The disappointment is the $38-53 we paid for semi-ok bread, a single oyster, and a sub par dessert bar. I want to give this place another shot outside of thanksgiving but it might be tough. (It would have been messed up to bail on our table and eat at the bar but in hindsight, we should have).

Update- this is now one of Charleston’s best restaurants. Service was very good with staff being very attentive without being “too much”. Food was excellent - really excellent!
They now have a locals option where they keep tables off Resy for local diners making last minute reservations.
The owner has tightened up this establishment to a very high standard. Well done!!
Great potential. Food was good atmosphere was great - nicely laid out - This restaurant has the potential to become a hit. The negative, and honestly this is a new restaurant so expect it will be fixed . The service staff were poorly trained and we had empty plates on table, dirty cutlery between courses and one of the waiters (not ours ) was actually vaping in the restaurant. Our waitress was nice but knew nothing about the wine list. . That said, I will be back soon. The fried oysters were fab, the salads great was great and everything else that came out was really well presented and tasty.

Great service and atmosphere on a Friday night, loved the Mac & Cheese and burrata appetizer
Impeccable service (shout out to Trudy!!), delicious food, and an ambiance that perfectly balances elegance and comfort make this dining destination a true standout in Charleston!

We had an amazing and delicious dinner experience. The bar area with the flowers is absolutely beautiful. The food is delicious! The duck with collards was a creative pairing of flavors and so yummy! The onion soup with house made broth-superb! The glazed salmon was a little sweet with a tiny bit of spicy and oh so good. The toffee pudding reminded me of speculoos cookies!
There was even live music to add to everything else that was wonderful about this experience. Our server, Austin was friendly and made good recommendations.
I highly recommend checking it out!
There is a parking garage right behind the restaurant and they will validate parking.

I’ve had the good fortune to have been to several top restaurants in the world. I would put the taste of this food up with the best. Start with the baguette with salted butter. Everyone at our table commented on how good it was. And we all wondered how they got that much taste in to this “common “ dish. There were 8 of us and we all got something different. So we got to sample lots of the dishes. All were home runs. Even something as common as green beans were killer tasty. Above and beyond. I believe the chef is from Argentina. Maybe it’s the spices he’s brought to the dishes. But this place is definitely first class.

My boyfriend and I love going around town trying new dinner spots since Charleston’s food scene is so vast, and The Select definitely landed itself in my top five favorites spots to be.
The atmosphere is beautiful and romantic, the drinks were exceptionally flavorful (I highly suggest the ginger margarita)
The food was superb, full of flavor so wonderful we already spoke of coming back before we even left.
Also would love to mention our server Stella was very welcoming and timed the courses out perfectly!

Our group of 7 had an outstanding time tonight at The Select! We tried every cocktail, every starter, lobster wedge salad, oysters, the roast chicken, short rib, and duck entrees, the Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, and roasted mushroom sides, and the tiramisu, salted caramel gelato, baklava cheesecake, and sticky toffee. The service was outstanding (shoutout to Callie!), and the atmosphere is beautiful. This is truly a restaurant that you have to experience for yourself. Coming from a food and bev family, this place is absolutely top tier. Can’t wait to come back again!

The Select was one of the best experiences I've had in Charleston! Callie gave us incredible service and every dish was amazing and unique. The lobster wedge salad and the baklava cheesecake were my top two favorites. I will recommend this place to anyone I talk to that is visiting and will definitely be back!

We’d been very excited to try this place and finally went this weekend with another couple for our double anniversary. To start, our waiter was so wonderful and I hate that I’m so terrible with names because I would 10 out of 10 recommend requesting him. He very eloquently described the dishes and was great to recommend what were his favorites and go-to selections. He very very personable, told some great stories and had us all laughing. We ordered the peach, tomato and burrata starter (my favorite), as well as the truffle fries, and the shrimp. I can’t speak to the shrimp as I don’t really eat seafood but everyone said it was very good. My husband ordered the steak frites which he really liked but did say it was a touch overcooked. This was literally the only negative comment about the whole meal and experience. My friend ordered the tile fish with the black rice which I did taste and it was really good. Two of us ordered the short rib and to me, it was the star. Probably the best short rib dish I’ve ever had. I will forever say F.I.G. has the best mashed potatoes on the planet but these may be right up there with the best! The veggies in the dish were al dente which I prefer and the meat just melted in your mouth. Everyone loved their drink choices- I hesitantly ordered the ginger margarita. Sometimes ginger can be overpowering for my taste but it was spectacular. I ended up ordering 3 of them. Overall this is a really solid choice for any occasion. The interior is beautiful and even when it started to get busy, the noise level wasn’t bad at all. I’d definitely recommend it and I will definitely be back.

Was looking forward to a new dining experience, but this wasn't it. Started with their Old Fashion, but ended up returning it because it was the most bland cocktail i ever had. Shared the lobster we salad with my wife, but after 2 bites I let my wife finish it. The bacon jam was much too sweet for my taste. Here comes the biggest turn off for me. Wife and I each ordered the same burger requesting they be cooked medium and ordered a side of fries to share. Food came out, burgers were plated with fries on each plate, plus an additional side of fries. The menu did not state the entries came with fries. No bigee, they took the fries off the bill. The frustrating part was my wife's burger was cooked as requested, but mine came out very well done. By that point I'd had enough. They offered to get a new one going or get me something else. We were dining with friends and everyone already had their food, so I declined as I didn't want them to wait for my food to be prepared as initially requested. My wife gave me part of her burger and I have to admit, it was an average burger at best.
Service was good and manager swung by to ask how our experience was. I told her about my experience and that I would not be returning. One of the people in my party told her that her entrée was not prepared well and was tough to chew and that they'd probably not return.
I see there are reviews here that people have expressed their satisfaction with The Select and that is fine. Maybe we were there on an off night. I guess we will never know

The restaurant was pretty and great service. Got the pasta primavera. The server mentioned new fall items so not sure if the pasta changed, but my pasta was very small, lacked flavor, and noodles were like undercooked ramen noodles.

They get so much right, but little things really stand out. I noticed one review said that the manager gaslit them for thinking there wasn’t enough Lobster in their dish. I had the same thing happen when we came in - on opening night. Steak frites and the fries were sad and limp and cold. How does that happen on opening night? I asked our server for fresh fries (and I never send stuff back) and it took quite a while - like too long for just fries. And when the manager dropped them off she said “here’s some extra crispy fries.” And I had to say “No, these are just fries that are cooked correctly and fresh. Thanks.” Never been made to feel dumb for wanting hot french fries. Also, came back with some friends and was blown away by the portion on the tartare - this is insulting. And when I looked at it questioningly, our server noticed, but obviously couldn’t say anything or do anything about it. Oh well. If I’m going to drop $300 on a dinner with my wife I at least want to not be made to feel like a moron for wanting hot fries.
