I have not eaten here in a long time. I used to come all the time every January You're the food was outstanding. Whoever the chef is is definitely local. The red rice was on spot the crab cakes were excellent some of the best I've ever eaten. And the collards was superb.

Lovely service, great food for our group of 8! A personal favorite for dinner or a bite before a show or event.

It was restaurant week although we had some items that are standard on the regular menu such as the shrimp and grits, poached pear salad, she crab soup, caramelized onion & fig focaccia and pecan pie. Fried oyster sliders were delicious as well! The serving sizes were plentiful and EVERY item we would absolutely order again. The ambience with more traditional jazz music was enjoyable. This was our first time eating here and we will return next time we come to Charleston.

We were graciously welcomed when we checked in. The table gave us a wide view of the street and surrounding area, our server was outstanding and truly interested inus and our interests. Lastly the food was well prepared and presented in an appetizing manner.

Service was excellent. Live piano: enjoyable. She Crab Soup and Deviled Crab appetizer: must eat. Sweet tea brined fried chicken: moist and delicious. Fresh fish of the day: Divine. Great local beer selection too.

The food is just so fattening it actually detracts from the experience. Forget about ordering an appetizer and an entree. One entree will probably cost you upward of 2000 calories — enough for the entire day. The flavor is fine, but I prefer not to sacrifice an entire day on one meal alone.

We went to the Swamp Fox restaurant at the Francis Marion Hotel. I've read good reviews on it. Surprisingly the food was incredibly good and delicious. I was very shocked at how god it was. I had their Bibb salad, Foccica bread with Brie and figs and roasted salmon. My wife had she crab soup, fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. It was remarkably good and reasonably priced for downtown. It does lack atmosphere but their were a lot of people walking by in the sidewalk for watching,

Food was wonderful! Ratatouille soup, salads & fried chicken! Our waiter Oscar was very attentive and friendly! Host Ricardo was welcoming and helping staff when it got busy. Would recommend as a higher end eating option.

Eric was AMAZING! We came in for our 10 year wedding anniversary and he made it so special! My husband and I felt like it was just as important to him as it was to us! We will definitely be back so he can meet the whole family! THANKS ERIC!!!

A great place to- I ordered the fried green tomato's and the grilled focaccia with Brie & figs. The food was great, the ambiance was relaxed and well kept.

Service was extremely slow the night we went. Sat for quite some time waiting for food. It should not take a half hour for soup to come out, and the main course was even longer. They also mixed up one of our orders.

This is not a typical hotel restaurant. The chef is top notch and food is amazing. I frequent the swamp fox for breakfast and lunch. Just did dinner before a concert at Chs Music Hall. Dinner was tremendous. Andrew is an awesome waiter!

I really wanted to like it — but we waited 10 min before the host came back to the stand. And the food was not great — the best thing was the free sourdough bread. The fried chicken was dry and unseasoned: mashed potatoes tasted like there was cheese in them. Grits were “interesting.”
