The watch is one of my favorite places to go in Charleston. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the view is great and the food is tasty. The service is always spectacular and I'm always happy to come back. This past time was lacking a bit on the food aspect. We ordered Brussels sprouts and ended up getting broccoli. The lobster pasta needed some salt. The chopped salad took forever to come. But I'm always happy to come back here as I do love the restaurant. I'd definitely recommend always getting the truffle fries (it's the best) and the espresso martini was perfect!

Came here for Sunday brunch with friends. Was excited to enjoy brunch on the rooftop. Where we arrived, it took a while for the hostess to arrive. Seems like they were short staffed cause she didn't greet us but sat a party that arrived before us. Luckily about 7-10min later, we were able to ask for a table. We were sat outside and after about 10 more min our waiter came (was just informed that we were his table). Alex was our waiter and he was great. We actually moved to the other side because it was cold and breezy and the other side was a lot warmer. I'm glad we could do that without any hassle. We ordered our food, and everything came out as ordered. I got the breakfast, and it was okay. The eggs were bland and the grits tasted like they had been overcooked and sat out. I could still taste the flavor but unfortunately the texture deterred me from really enjoying. We also ordered the bread pudding French toast but unfortunately it was just French toast. We were a bit disappointed about that. Also, the pancakes were a little too crispy on the edges, but it was okay. Overall, Alex made it a bit better of an experience. I'd be willing to try this place again, maybe for dinner. Recommend they make sure the hostess recognize people as they arrive as there were plenty of times that the stand was unattended to the point that I saw people leave.

I went here for brunch on Saturday morning with a group of 11 girls. The entire experience was laughably bad. I made the reservation far in advance. Not once in my back and forth with the manager was I ever told we would be on a large party menu and not have access to the full menu. I was also told that they don't make reservations for the patio but that since we were the first reservation of the morning odds were if the weather permitted we could be seated outside. On arrival our table wasn't ready and the idea of sitting outside was never brought up. Once we were seated the whole meal service was incredibly slow. We gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was our waiter's first day. Every single item we ordered for a group of 11 was brought out one by one from the kitchen, I've never seen anything like it. We were given one vase of water for the whole table. Our drinks were empty basically the entire meal. When we finally did order, the appetizers came out fine. The truffle fries really were quite good. Everything else was basic but fine. We had six entrees to order from. One was a salad titled "kale salad" on the menu, another was "fish tacos". When the food came out the kale salad didn't actually have any kale in it, just a bed of sad mixed greens with a sad little chicken breast cut up on top. For $30 it was fairly underwhelming. The fish tacos to our surprise were actually shrimp. One of the diners had a dietary restriction and can not eat shrimp. The explanation she was given was that the fish order didn't come in but they would remake her tacos with "another type of fish"? Gross. All the entrees were mediocre, burger was OK. Despite multiple items being mislabeled and about half of us not getting what we expected no attempt was made to apologize or comp any portion of the meal. I knew based on reviews we weren't going to be blown away by the meal but at least it would be a pretty view. Needless to say, the location does not make up for the overpriced dining experience. I'd encourage anyone else looking for a beautiful brunch spot to give this place a wide berth and go literally anywhere else.

They have a "sunset hour" which is essentially a happy hour with discounted menu cocktails, wines/beers and a few appetizers. One thing that was unique is that they have many vegetarian selections and mocktails for those expecting mommas to be.

Called three times to cancel a reservation and no response. They have a cancellation/no show fee and you can’t even contact them to prevent being charged within the timeframe to cancel! Don’t recommend trying to go here unless you’re fully sure no one in your party will cancel.

The worst service I've ever had in Charleston. It took 20 minutes for a server to come to us and another 20 to get drinks. Disappointing considering that there were only 3 other tables around. Food took another 30 minutes to come out and was super cold. I will not be returning at do not recommend if you're looking for a nice rooftop to enjoy Charleston.

First time visiting Charleston and started things off right by having lunch at The Watch Rooftop. Sat outside and had a great view of the city. I had the Orzo bowl and added grilled shrimp. Highly recommend. Service was on point.

Nice view from the top. But everything else could be better. We came in for lunch and were seated outside on their deck, though they have indoor seating as well. We loved our server! He had great recommendations and was so friendly. They only had one bartender on a busy Friday, so the drinks took a while and came out the same time our food did. It's not the bartenders fault, they were working hard that day, and the restaurant just needed more staff behind the bar. I wanted to order an Apricot Spritz, their version of an Aperol Spritz, but they couldn't make it, so I ordered the Orange Basil Sunset. Like most of their cocktails, it's a nice drink for brunch, but I didn't love it (and I really like bourbon). For food, my friend and I shared the crispy buffalo brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tasted delicious, a little sweet and a little spicy, little did we know they would wreak havoc on our stomachs 4 hours later. I'm not saying it was the brussel sprouts, but it was the only thing we both ate, so be careful. I also ordered a skillet of Mac & Cheese, there's an option to add extra protein, but I had it by itself. It came straight from the oven with a nice crust and great flavor.

For lunch with a view I've been wanting to try "The Watch" at the Restoration Hotel on Wentworth Street. Got off to a great start with a cup of freshly brewed coffee before ordering lunch. Spencer was a welcoming server and was friendly and attentive. I could not make up my mind as to what to order so I just ordered the tomato soup, a Caesar salad and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. With great views of the city from the 7th floor of the Restoration Hotel I loved the fact that you had a panoramic view of Patriots Point across the river in Mt Pleasant. You will not be at a loss for noticing all the church steeples in the city also ~ "is that why Charleston is nicknamed "the Holy City?" ~ so give a count while you are dining at The Watch if you'd like! Had a nice relaxing lunch in the beautiful and breezy dining room. You will want to linger and enjoy!

Super good! Food was great. We sat outside on the back patio where you could see the water! The weather was perfect which made it super enjoyable. Our server was nice and made sure we had all we needed. As far as food we got some plates to share. We got the sliders, deviled eggs, nachos, and a salad. Also- definitely recommend making a reservation (we had a wait 30 minutes getting there at 12:30pm)
